Wolfless Omega

1085 Words
The house was quiet as it has always been. Maids walked in and out as they cleaned in a hurry. They all know what could happen to them if Alpha Aiden meets them there. They could only clean the house at a scheduled time before going back to their quarters. And no matter what happens or whatever noise is heard from the main house, no one must interfere or enter the house except the person wishes to die. Rumor had it that the alpha sleepwalks at night, which made him not want anyone to stay with him in the main house, or he speaks with ghosts, but none had been confirmed even by the maids. In the hallway upstairs, a maid could be seen mopping the floor. She packed her brown hair into a tight bun, looking messy, with sweat building up all over her body. Suddenly, a loud ringtone disrupted the quiet hallway. With haste, she took the phone from her pocket and put it in silence mode before looking around to check if anyone was coming. "Good of you, Amelia. You picked up my call on time today." She heard the voice, followed by a laugh, but she just sighed as she kept looking around to see if anyone was coming. She knew the consequences as the use of phones wasn't allowed in the house. "Send me money." "I'll send it tomorrow. I'll collect my pay tomorrow; please just wait." She begged. She had been expecting his call. He would surely call since it was already the end of the month. She has been working as a maid since she was eighteen, four years ago. Apart from being a wolfless omega, her life has been so difficult ever since her mother death, or perhaps ever since she was little. She had never seen her mother before because she died when she was a baby, but she only heard from her father and kept pictures of her, despite her father's disapproval. Life became harder as she grew. Her dad would curse and accuse her of killing her mother. Her stepmother and sister would also do the same, beat her, or sometimes make her go hungry for days. She even had to work for her family. She would give them money, hoping they would loosen up to her and accept her kindly until that wasn't the reason anymore. She wasn't happy working and giving away the money, but she had no one and nowhere to go. Her father was the only one for her in the world, even though he's also the worst. "Make sure you send it tomorrow, or you won't like what I'll do to you." She heard, followed by the hang-up sound. She sighed again as she thought about giving him and her stepmother the money she had worked for again. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she thought of her miserable life, forgetting where she was. She was just a wolfless Omega who still wished to go to college and become successful, even though she knew it wasn't possible because of her status in the pack, and she didn't have any money to make her dream come through. She was still thinking about her life when she heard a voice call her name from behind. She spun around to face the person, but because of fear, the phone in her hand dropped. It didn't drop to the ground because she had thrown it into the big flower pot near her. "What are you doing here? The housekeeper asked us to come together for a meeting downstairs." The maid said, looking at her suspiciously. She also noticed, and she knew the maid might have thought she had stolen something, given that she was just a part-time cleaner. Without bothering to search for her phone, she left the mop and left the hallway with the maid. *** The housekeeper assigned her another job downstairs, and she couldn't get the chance to go back upstairs to get her phone. By the time they all finished their work, it was already late, and it was the right time to leave the main house as the sadistic Alpha would soon be home. They all went back to their quarters, ate their food, and went to their respective beds. Amelia packed her bags as she would leave for her house the next day. She collapsed on her bed, ready to rest her tired body when she suddenly remembered. "My phone. She sat up immediately. "Oh my goodness! I didn't take my phone from the house." She whispered, her eyes popping. "How could you forget your phone, Amelia?" She face-palmed herself. She lay back on the bed. There was nothing she could do. They weren't allowed to go into the mansion at night, nor could she forsake her phone until next week. She had a feeling something would have happened to her phone by then, and she alone knew what she went through before getting the phone. She couldn't take it any longer. The phone was really precious. She sneaked out of the room quietly and walked out of the quarters. She was so careful not to make a sound. She watched for the guard monitoring the building. It took almost an hour before she could get into the mansion, and to her surprise, it was so quiet and dark, giving her chills as she stepped inside. "Gosh. What if the Alpha finds out?" She started to regret her decisions. The room was dark. She couldn't see, and she feared the Alpha might catch her. Nonetheless, she couldn't go back after what she went through before entering the house. "I should find the switch first." She whispered to herself. She didn't see or know where she was going. She just kept trying to feel things with her hands as she moved. Suddenly, she felt something like a hand. It grabbed her arm. She became alerted immediately and wanted to scream, but couldn't. She knew she was caught. "I'm..." Before she could complete her words, she heard a masculine voice. "Mate." She heard him say, but she couldn't move. She was shocked. She couldn't even push him away, but when she felt his other hand on her cheeks, and heard him say. "You came back." His hand slowly went behind her neck, but before he could pull her closer, Amelia finally screamed and pushed him away, making him fall to the ground before she ran out without looking back.
