What the pendant caused!!

At these words, she rushed upstairs toward his room hoping not to mess herself up. As soon as she was done, she walked out with great relief and began looking round his room, admiring the great lighting and decorations. As she admired his artifacts and paintings, she caught sight of a medal handle hanging out of the drawer. This caught her attention immediately. Curiously, she drew the drawer open and caught sight of a half heart pendant that had the word 'SHA' written on it. This got her confused. Why did he have this? She thought. She'd recalled him informing her during the early period of their relationship that his ex's name was Shalom, but she never recalled him mentioning a pendant. This made no sense to her. Even if they both had a pendant, why does he still have hers? Why has he not discarded it already? Not sure whether to doubt his faithfulness towards her or not, she had shut the drawer close, hoping to pretend she saw nothing, and raced back downstairs. She took hold of her bag, gave him a kiss and left his building, slamming the door behind her as hard as she could. As soon as she got home, she picked up her phone and called Emily. "Hi bae. What's up?" Emily's voice rang at the other end of the phone. "Emily, you know Tristan more than I have. I need information about his ex", she enquired. "What is it, gal? What could you possibly want to dig from Tristan's past?" Emily asked with surprise. "Is there by any chance Shalom and Tristan had a pendant which had their initials?" She tried confirming. "O! Yeah. I remember Shalom always bugging Tristan to wear this half heart pendant she made for them both. It's been like 6 years... Why do you need this information now?" "I am not sure of what is going on. Why is Tristan still with that pendant after 6 years? Why didn't he discard it?" "Wait?! Bae, that guy still got that pendant?! Sus! Real sus. You better be careful, gal. He might still have a thing or two for her. I do remember he used to be crazy over her then, even though she tends to be the one throwing herself all over him...due to his money" "Emily, I am confused. I don't know what to do. I think he is cheating on me." "That's too serious, Helen. He might have little feelings for her, but that doesn't mean he is back with her." "I am serious about these allegations, Emily! He is really cheating on me!" The poor lady had already concluded this fact in her mind . Her mind was already rigid. *** Helen hadn't expected her mum to walk in while she researched who Shalom was and how she looked facially. Was she beautiful? Was she sexy? Did she have those curves she hadn't gotten? Does she have an enticing singing voice? So far, all her research has gone down the drain because she barely knew the young lady's surname. All she had known about her from Emily was that the spoilt brat dad worked in the oil industry, earning a huge ton of money. "Still angry with your dad?" Her mum asked as she sat at the edge of the bed with a slight smile. "He was very harsh. He went too far", She replied calmly, not bothering to stare up from her laptop at her aged mother. "I understand. That's how he has always been. You know what? When I met him for the first time, I didn't believe I could love a man so hot-tempered as him. He was always pissed off about everything. When he had set his eyes on me, he began to get his nerves down. He loved me so much that he wouldn't even dare to lay a finger on me. That man, as you see, has a sharp tongue like a tiger, but he can never harm a fly. Beyond his stern look and sharp tongue, he has a very nice heart. All he is doing is just to protect you and nothing more. He isn't wrong about your school, you know . Modelling is a very tedious and dangerous job. You are going to be exposed to the world, you might be ripped off your clothing...you might be placed on a strict diet. You know your dad doesn't like all that." "I know mother. I did my research before making my decision. I will be fine, I promise. I know it is wrong doing all this against his wishes, I just cannot calm my guts. Sometimes I always wondered how you both live together. You're a very gentle and jovial lady with a charismatic personality. Why doesn't he ever learn that from you?" "That's the tricky part. He does. If you had met him before we married, you wouldn't believe he is the same person you are calling dad today. Helen, people change with time. Your dad changed because he knew he was wrong. He had no intension of losing me due to his obnoxious character. Some people out there wish to get better but can't because they need someone to guide them through it. This is why I always tell you how lucky you are to have Tristan. That guy is God sent from heaven. Your dad has nothing against him, i promise. He is just scared of the fact his dad being a soldier would have a bad effect on our family ties. You know how much your dad despises soldiers." "Yes. I do." Helen replied with a nod. "Keep him Helen. He is a good person", her mum advised. "Alright. But what if he has a thing that reminds him of his ex? A pendant, diary or something. Doesn't that mean he still loves her? Is there a chance he wishes to get back with her?" "Exaggeration Helen. Exaggeration. Even though he still has his ex-item with him, there is a possibility he has a very good reason for keeping it. Helen, if you're confused, ask him. Do not jump into conclusion yourself by judging situations your own way. He might still love her a little bit but doesn't want to get back with her." "That's the thing, mama. I don't wish to compete with him. I love him too much to start fighting over petty issues which could harm our relationship." "You've answered it all yourself. Trust him and everything will be fine" Helen nodded with a smile. Her mum gave her a goodbye kiss and left her room afterwards. Helen focused back on her laptop again and was tremendously surprised as she caught sight of a beautiful looking Shalom, who was a daughter of one of the most influential families in the country. Her radiant smile, beautiful eyes, deep dimples made the poor girl jealous. Helen closed the page promptly. Her heart was racing fast and she was beginning to fume jealously. She massaged her head slowly trying to calm herself down and get rid of all doubts in her mind. "Calm down Helen. This is wrong. I love him, he loves me. He will never cheat on me. That is all that matters." She told herself, trying to stay calm. "Calm down Helen. Calm down" *** Helen smiled sheepishly at Mr Chad as he offered her a seat in his office. He had always called her his favorite jewel since she was a kid. Till now, she was unsure of the reason why he fancied her so much, but she had hoped he still fancied her much to offer her a job in his restaurant without looking through her CV. She had no skill in retail sales, cooking, small jobs...nothing. "Your dad is a big investor in our restaurant. It's a big surprise realizing you are here to seek a job", he told her in disbelief. "I am desperately in need of money. I am thinking of saving the funds I earn here to meet some modelling requirements", she explained, pulling down her short skirt which was going mid way above her laps. She gave him an uncomfortable smile, hoping no one observed how much she had exposed her lap. "Why don't you ask your dad for the money then?" The old man asked. "He wishes I should go back to law school. He definitely won't support my modelling career. I wish to do this independently" "You're sure girl? I know modelling looks glamorous and all, but you do know all that glitters isn't gold, do you right?" "I am not in it for fun. I have always loved it as a kid" "Who am I to stop your dream of becoming a world supermodel?" The man said with a little short laugh. "Fine then, i will be offering you a spot as a waiter. You will be operating majorly in the VIP section because I like you. You will be paid more if you do your work right and amuse the wealthy customers there. Who knows? They might give you a huge tip." Helen had an enthusiastic expression on her face on hearing this. "O! Gosh!" She cried out in joy "I promise a million times to put all my efforts into this, sir." "Good. Your job starts tomorrow. Ensure you come very early. I wish you the best of luck". He congratulated her by giving her a wink. "Thank you so much sir" She appreciated it, one more time. She was unable to control the joy she felt within. Her joy soon came to a halt realizing Mr Chad was close to her dad and he could unintentionally tell her father this move of hers. "I...I...I would really appreciate it if you didn't tell my dad I am working here. He...He won't be happy with my choice of being here. There is a huge chance he might force you to fire me." The man already seemed to have that in mind because he didn't seem skeptical about her request. "I promise. I won't". He gave her his word. *** Helen purchased a bottle of wine hoping to celebrate her new job with the love of her life as soon as she walked out of the restaurant. Arriving at his place, she gave him a tight hug and waved the wine at his face with a naughty smile. "Guess who has a new job?!" She informed him hoping he got her hint. Tristan's mouth opened wide in awe, now realizing why she had so many positive vibes. Normally, she had no news to tell him aside from the issues she had at home. He pulled her for a hug with a proud feeling. "Congrats sweetie. I am so happy you got it". He congratulated her by squeezing her in his arms. "I was so scared, i won't lie to you. He kept asking me about my dad. I almost thought i would never get out of that situation." "You would have gotten it no matter what. Your dad is a close pal to that man. Just look at the odds. An investor in the restaurant? There is no way he wouldn't give you the job with all these odds". Helen agreed with him on this. She watched him walk into the kitchen with his athletic steps as he had the intention of getting wine glasses for them both. "Ready?" He asked as soon as he was back with the wine glasses. "Tristan, i want us to celebrate this another way". She suggested collecting the wine glasses from him and placing them on the central table. She felt her legs bumping against the table over and over again due to how close they were to it, but she ignored it. "Where do you wish to go? Should we go to your favorite club or shop at your favorite boutique or...?" She shook her head, refusing all these requests. "I don't wish to go anywhere, Tristan. I just want us to have quality time together. Just me and you. I want you to hold me tightly and take me on a ride to the other side of romance", She said to him, unbuttoning his shirt with a seductive look. "Are you sure about this, Helen?" He asked, cupping her face in his hands and offering her a peck on the lips. "Yes. I am ready for this. I trust you wholeheartedly", She responded with a nod. He held her by the waist and lifted her off the floor, gazing straight into her eyes. She blushed. Carrying her as carefully as he could, like a mother carrying her child. He headed upstairs straight toward his room and placed her on the bed leaning over her. "You have such beautiful eyes", he complimented, making her smile. She was almost like a 2-year-old given one of the rarest candy. "I will be right back" The handsome dude excused himself and walked into the washroom. Perhaps he was nervous. Staring around the room due to her observant attitude, her eyes fell on the drawer. This gave her a reminisce of the previous day. What if he still has the pendant? Perhaps she would bring it up after her moments with him. Opening up the drawer, she became surprised, realizing it was no more in there. This made her relieved. 'He must have discarded it', she thought. Tristan walked out of the washroom. Realizing she had her fixed to the drawer, he had roughly pushed her against the wall, pinning her to it. "I see you check my drawers now". He questioned her, unimpressed by her nosiness. "It doesn't matter as long as you are clean and there is nothing to hide" she gave him the best thoughtful reply she could think of. That should do. Now, he can leave her alone. His gaze went straight toward her lips and his hands went wrapped around her waist. He drew her closer to him, letting her stomach touch his. "You know how much I love you, right?" He asked. She nodded promptly. Drawing his head toward hers, he gave her a very deep, passionate kiss, sucking her lower lips into his and then exchanging tongues with her. That evening went way better than Helen had imagined. She felt a kind of bonding feeling she had never felt with Tristan before. The one which made her sure they would be forever connected with each other...so she thought.
