Prologue
For four thousand years, the Kums have ruled Ekhros with wisdom and righteousness, with wars becoming a thing of the past. When King Amanus died, his eldest son, Prince Satír, was crowned King of Ekhros. Although peace reigned, not everyone shared in that joy… Derkno, Satír's younger brother, envied him. Resentful for not being the chosen one, he concocted a plot with the help of his trusted subordinates.
They formed an army with the worst scum of criminals, including the fearsome Garluts (1). Derkno's plan was simple: eliminate his brother and the five guardians to become the sole king.
Satír discovered Derkno's plans and managed to stop him in time.
The court's laws governed even the royal family; no one was exempt from them. Derkno would suffer the worst punishment, one for which he would wish for death. Despite the betrayal, Satír loved his brother and suffered when he sentenced him. Derkno was sent to the prison on the dark island, where he would spend the rest of his days.
Ten years have passed since then, and King Satír, along with Queen Ukreel, are preparing for an important event: the ceremony in which they will present their first child to all the Ekhronians (2).

1. "Garluts are fierce monsters. Their black skin was deformed, and their legs and arms were covered with a sort of permanent armor in the shape of pointed rocks. Their eyes resembled dried lava that still held fire in its red cracks. Their blackened teeth were pointed like tiny peaks. They had a crest of red hair and the build of a normal Ekhronian, with enough strength to face ten Ekhronians. They were very vile and ruthless beings."
2. "Ekhronians is the name given to the people of Ekhros, and they tend to live many years depending on the strength of their mana."
