ACT II - The Profiteia

Luella's

"Is she still breathing?"

"Check her pulse."

"I don't know how to check pulse, I'm eight!"

"Stupid!"

"If I'm stupid then you go and check her pulse yourself!"

I was awoken by the voices of bickering children beside me. I tried to move but I cringed when I felt my back cracking. My whole body is in pain and I felt like dying. I moaned and slowly opened my eyes.

"Oh shoot she’s awake!"

"She's awake?"

"No, she's still sleeping. She's opening her eyes of course she's awake! Stupid!"

"Hey! Quit calling me stupid!"

The two kids continued bickering beside me.

As I slowly sat upward¸ my eyes scanned the whole room. It seems that I'm inside a house made of bricks and stones. It’s an unfamiliar place.

"Where am I?" I asked the two children who were bickering near me. They stopped and approached me.

"Woah, she's pretty..." The boy said while looking at her. She smiled.

"Stop being flirty Coeus!” The little girl scolded the boy beside her. Coeus pouted his lips.

sBy the way lady, you’re in our house. I'm Phoebe and this is my brother, Coeus." The girl said to me.

"We found you in the forest near the Enormous Snake's Den. Good thing the Snakes were hibernating, if not, you would be eaten for dinner!" Coeus said to me. I slowly sat up on the bed and rubbed my eyes when Phoebe spoke again.

“What’s your name lady and where are you from? We’ve never seen you anywhere, you’re not familiar. Are you a friend of the King?” she asked me with excitement written all over her face. She was smiling from ear to ear and her eyes widened.

"I'm Luella and I'm from-" I immediately stopped talking when I realized that I couldn’t remember anything aside from my name. My eyebrows furrowed and tried to remember but I really couldn’t remember anything.

What’s going on? Why can’t I remember anything aside from my name?

My eyes widened. I tried to process my thoughts but nothing really comes. What the hell is happening to me?

"Lady?" the child named Phoebe called me. I looked at her with confusion visible on my face.

"I can't remember..." I said to the kids. The kids looked at each other. They looked confused just like me.

"Let's bring her to the Palace. I think she's from another Planet and illegally passed the boarder." I heard Phoebe said to her brother Coeus. They looked at me and raised their brows on me as if they’re doubting me.

Illegally passed the boarder? I don’t even know what it is. What are these kids talking about?

"You should come with us lady Luella. We'll be scolded if the Palace guards will find out that we brought in a person like you." Phoebe said to me. I just nodded my head.

"Can you stand?" Coeus asked me. I nodded and slowly stood up from the wooden bed. They exited the house first, I just followed them.

As soon as I exited the house's I was astounded with the view that I am seeing.

The world looks weird but is beautiful—very beautiful. The other planets can be seen floating in the sky and there are flying ships everywhere! My jaw almost dropped on the floor.

"Woah..." I mouthed in awe.

"Beautiful right?" Coeus spoke. I nodded. I was ecstatically amazed by the view. Coeus smiled at me and held my hand. I looked at him.

"Welcome to the Realm of Phantasm lady Luella."

As we were walking in the woods, I noticed that there are certain parts of that place that Coeus and Phoebe are avoiding. They also warned me about looking at the darkness too much. They said that I must avoid getting distracted and just focus on them.

I wonder why?

The moment we got out of the woods, I opened my mouth and finally asked them about it.

“It’s the Ordeals, lady Luella. They’re slowly awakening again…” Coeus said without looking at me.

My eyebrows furrowed.

Ordeals?

“The Ordeals are in the Profiteia—it’s a prophecy book about the end of this realm. There’s nothing to stop them except for the Gladiator—who’s nowhere to find right now. We don’t even know if he even exists… we don’t know who he is.” This time, it was Phoebe who explained the whole thing to me. I bit my lower lip.

This beautiful world is nearing its end?

I let out a sigh.

After more than hour walking, we finally reached the place called ‘Palace’ the children were talking about.

My mouth opened in amazement. The gate in front of us is massive! Like really massive as if it was made for a giant—yes! A Giant could fit in there!

I was about to enter the gate when Phoebe suddenly pulled my arm and looked at me.

"Luella, that's the Giants' entrance, our entrance is right here." She said to me and then pulled me to a smaller gate beside it.

“Wait… there are Giants?!” I was too shocked, I didn’t even notice that I was already raising my voice. I looked around and noticed that people are already looking at us because of me. I gulped and lowered my head immediately as embarrassment hit me.

Coeus smiled and nodded his head.

We’re already in front of the gate and my eyebrows furrowed when I noticed that the guards who are standing in front of the gate are checking the necks of the women before letting them pass through.

It wasn’t that long until we’re next in line. They first checked Phoebe and then me. I combed my hair to my side so that it wouldn’t be hard for the guard to check my neck. My eyebrows furrowed when the guard suddenly stopped on checking my neck and looked at me.

The woman approached the men beside us and their eyes widened. My eyes widened when they suddenly knelt in front of me.

"Why are they kneeling-" I was about to ask Pheoebe and Coeus when they also knelt.

My eyebrows furrowed and my eyes widened in shock. I can’t understand what’s happening. What’s going on?! Why are they suddenly kneeling in front of me?!

"Umm... w-what’s happening?"

"Our Gladiator! We welcome you in the Realm of Phantasm!"

Wait what?!
