|Tamara|  “Tammy! Faster! I’m already thirsty,” it was Thea who had been knocking on my walk-in closet for a while now. Last week, we decided that we would go clubbing that’s why she is here today. I don’t why she’s in a hurry when she’s always, if not every night, at the club.     “Just wait there. I’m not yet finished dressing up, you know. There’s plenty of alcohol in the world. You won’t run out of it!” I said as I wore my denim black coat. I might get cold at the club later on. I just dressed up simply. I’m wearing a white v-neck polo shirt dress and a slim fit ripped jeans. After I finish dressing up, we bade goodbye to Mommy and Daddy before leaving the house. I’m just wearing a simple outfit for tonight. As soon as we entered the bar the booming sound from the inside greeted us. It was a mixed noise of the music and people jamming at each other. I was shocked when I saw that the bar was already jam-packed. It’s my first time to go back to the bar in a very long time. Even if I’m stressed, it didn’t enter my mind to go to a bar. Instead, I just slept it off.   I scanned the whole area and there were few familiar faces that I know. They immediately saw us and run wildly towards us. “My gosh, Tammy! Long time no see. It’s a good thing that I saw you here. How are you?” Chloe greeted me as she kissed me and Thea on the cheeks. I turned to look behind her and saw a few people holding their cellphones and taking videos and photos of Chloe. Well, she’s a famous actress after all.  “Yes, it’s been a while. I had a short break from work. I’m fine. How about you? How are you doing these days?” I asked back. I automatically closed my eyes as another flash came behind Chloe. “Well, still the same. My life has never experienced privacy for a long time now. But I’m getting the hang of it,” she turned her back and then looked at her fans and gave them a smirk. I guess they’re just fetching some news.   “Hmm, I’m sure you do. Well, Chloe, off we go,” said Thea. Thea didn’t wait for Chloe’s response and pulled me away from the crowd. I can’t stop her anyway so I just let her pull me. Thank god we saw an extra couch in a U-shaped and we sat there to rest. “Should I invite some boys, Tam? This couch is too spacious for the two of us,” Thea suggested and put her drink on the table. Even if it’s too dark inside, I still gave her a glare. This was supposed to be our time to spend together. I don’t want any disturbance especially if it has something to do with flirting. Even so, she still invites some random guys from time to time even though I don’t like it.  “Oh come on. I was just kidding! Okay, fine. let’s just drink the. Whoo!” then she raised her bottle of beer. I followed what she did and we clang our bottles together. “Cheers!” The night was long and we already drank too much. Who would’ve thought that I would enjoy this night very much? Uh! It’s been a very long time! Little by little, several men are starting to come near us and offer us company. It’s okay since I know some of them but it would be better if Thea will be the one who’ll entertain them. It’s her special hidden talent. There were some men who tried to sit beside me and have a conversation by I kept on giving them minimal answers. I know that they just want to flirt with me especially that the band is near us. “Is this seat taken?” Luke asked as he pointed at the space beside me. I automatically took a deep breath. He’s been courting me for two years but I’m not giving him any chance at all. He’s hot, don’t get me wrong, but he’s not my type.  “Even if I say yes, I know you will still sit beside me. Why bother asking?” I said frankly without looking at him while tracing the rim of my glass with the tip of my finger. I smirked when he really did sit beside me.  “Thanks. You look gorgeous tonight by the way,” he said while staring at me and sneakily put his arms around my shoulder. “Wish you were too,” I said without even looking at him. I don’t mean to be rude but I easily get irritated when I’m with him, especially if he keeps on being persistent in pursuing me. He scoffed. “Oh come on, Tam. Can’t you vibe with me even just for a while? Just give me a chance. Like, hmmm, a fifth chance maybe?” he said. I got more irritated with what he said so I stood up from the couch. I told Thea that I’ll just go to the restroom and then left the area. I really meant to stay longer at the restroom. I don’t want to go back there because Luke might still be there. I took my phone from my purse when I felt it was vibrating. I opened it and saw Thea’s message for me.  [Luke’s gone. I already took care of it. You can come back here now.] “Oh Thanks,” I let out a sigh and opened the door of the ladies' restroom. The part of this bar is quite dark so I didn’t notice that someone was standing and we bumped at each other. I immediately smelled the addictive fragrance. “Oh sorry.” I immediately looked at the guy who just apologized because his voice sounded familiar. My jaw literally dropped as soon as our eyes met. “Tamara?” it was Geoff. Geoff saying my name makes my heart explode with different kinds of emotions. Is it already a Chinese New Year? How come my heart keeps on popping like fireworks?  “Oh. H-hi Geoff,” I stuttered. He’s wearing a black polo dress. There were three unbuttoned buttons so you can immediately see his shiny necklace beautifully placed on his chest. Oh my. It’s been weeks since our last dinner. I thought that would be the last time that we would see each other.  “I didn’t know that you were fond of going to these places. Who’s with you?” he asked and looked as if I have my companions behind me.  “The usual. I’m with Thea. How about you? Are you with Neil?” I asked him. “Uhm, actually no. He flew to Iloilo for a family gathering but he’ll be back soon. I guess,” he said and licked his lips. Damn, he’s just too hot. Is it dry? Do you want me to lick it for you? “Is that so? Okay. I’ll just go back to Thea. S-see you around then,” I really want to talk more with him but I keep on forgetting how to breathe properly when I’m with him. Ugh! “Okay. I’ll just head to the CR.” I nodded at him and went back to Thea. I’m just grateful that the place is dark. She won’t be able to see my face turning red with surprise and excitement. I still can’t believe that I just saw Geoff Montagnier once again.  “So, where are the guys who were flirting with you?” I asked Thea without letting her sense the excitement boiling up inside of me. I stared at the table. It’s already full of bottles and glasses which we have drunk for the night. Did we really drink all of these? “Gone. They’re not my type,” she answered with disappointment. Wow, really huh? “Woah! What happened to you? They seemed like they’re the type of guy that you like awhile ago. Do you still need an extra beer? It’s the first time I’m hearing this from you.”  “I don’t know. Just let them be,” she dismissed the topic. I shook my head in disbelief. I know Thea very well. I know something is off about her but I don’t want to push her. Thea and I continued drinking. I already feel a little bit dizzy but I still tried to scan the whole place. Is he still here? If he is, where is he? I suddenly had the urge to know who is with him. Girlfriend? Hmm. I felt gloomy with just the thought of it. Damn. I was in the middle of my thoughts when I heard Thea murmuring something. “Go home…” she was already lying on the couch. Oh no, I haven’t realized she was already drunk. She even let out a burp after that. “Thea.. home… now,” she continued. I smiled at her. She looks like a child. “Okay. Thea is about to go home now,” I stood up and tried to lift her. I put one of her arms on my shoulder and held her waist using my other arm. I was desperately trying to lift her heavy a*s and fortunately, I was able to lift her up. There were few guys who offered to help me but I refused all of them. They might harass Thea along the way of helping us. I don’t want any of it to happen. I was slowly walking step by step just to reach the door of the bar then suddenly, the weight on my shoulder was gone. “You seriously need some help, Tam,” it was now Geoff who is carrying the already drunk Thea. Shoot! I should have let myself get drunk if this will be the case! This is so unfair, Thea! I’ll really get back to you when you sober up! Oh, Geoff! You really know the right timing! He’s always there whenever I need help. Geez! If that’s what you want then! I might just ask you to remove my b*a if you keep on doing this! I smiled at him and let him help me. Okay, I’ll admit it. She’s too heavy for me. Phew! “Wait! My car is not parked there,” I said as I noticed where we were heading to. “I’ll drive you home. You might get into an accident especially that both of you are already drunk. Just let your drivers pick up your car tomorrow,” he offered at me. Thea has already lost her consciousness while she is being carried by Geoff. Damn! What would it feel like to be held by his arms? I’m getting gay with all of these shits! Urgh! ‘Fine. We won’t complain even if you drive us straight to your home, eerr our home’ I just smiled at my own thoughts. Oh geez, Thea has already infected me with her ‘flirty virus’.  “Okay. Drive us home then,” I answered absentmindedly. I immediately furrowed my brows in confusion. I was about to correct what I just said when he suddenly turned his back walk straight towards his car.  “Yes, madam boss,” he replied. I smiled once again because of him. Well, it’s good that he’s slow in picking up things. I stopped for a while when I remembered something. “How about your companions? You’re just going to leave them?” I asked in a concerned tone.  “Don’t worry about them. They can manage themselves,” he reassured me and continued walking. It was for a short while, then we reached the road. I was at the shotgun while Thea was at the backrest of the passenger seat. “Aren’t you drunk?” I asked him. “What do you think?” he raised a brow at me before he returned his gaze at the road. Did he just seen-zone me? I forced my eyes shut when we heard Thea snoring loudly at the back. I gasped and then heard Geoff laugh in disbelief. “Don’t you have guy friends? It’s good timing that I was at the bar too. If not, your boyfriends would really have a hard time after knowing this, that is, if you have a boyfriend,” he continued. Yes, I’m thankful because of him but wait! Did he really under-estimated the clan of Harolds? He’s right though. I don’t have a boyfriend right now and I only had 2 boyfriends in the past. It wasn’t even serious. Hays. The way he talks though! Is it my fault that I don’t have a boyfriend at the moment? “Well, I have none. They all end up, hmm I don’t know, courting me?” I answered full of arrogance in my voice. I said those while playing with the tips of my hair using my finger. That’s the truth, one of the pieces of evidence is Luke. I was shocked when he burst off laughing at my comment. I frowned at him. Is there something funny with what I just said? I’m sure there’s none. “You didn’t sound that arrogant, huh,” he was still laughing while one of his hands is holding his stomach, err abs sorry. “It’s true! Even if you ask Thea,” I challenged him. Did he really think I was just kidding? Most people say that I’m beautiful. “Then, try me?” I immediately straightened up on my seat. W-what did he mean by that? In just a snap, I was at loss for words. It felt like I need to study the whole alphabet again. “I’m just kidding. You might misunderstand that I was just befriending you because I like you. I’m totally not that type of person. If I really like the person, I would frankly tell her. Am I right, Ms. Harolds?” he asked. I gulped the lump that was forming inside my mouth. Why did I suddenly felt bitter with what he said? Damn, it really hurts even if he was just joking. Us? Friends? I didn’t know when did we become friends. I know I should be happy about it but a part of me aches for what he said. I just can’t point it out. “Y-yes, you’re right! You should be! It would be lousy if you would approach a girl that way, right?” I replied trying to hide the pain in my chest. “Uh-huh.” Shit, just keep it together, Tammy. It was a long drive so I felt a little bit sleepy. My eyes really want to close as of the moment but I don’t want to be rude to Geoff. We already took him away from his friends when he should be enjoying right now. In the end, I tried thinking of things that we can talk about. I should divert the topic about golf since it’s a sensitive topic and I might ask something that is below the belt for him.   Hmm. What if. . .  “Are you free on Saturday, next week?” I asked before I could stop myself. Even if it hurt that he just thinks of me as a friend, I should not let go of this chance to know him more, right? “I guess so? Why? Will you show me the boys who were courting you as proof?” he teasingly asked. “I don’t need any proof. It’s just that, I have charity work during that day. It’s for children with disabilities, a foundation that our company helps. We’re going to give them a small party,” I explained to him. “Oh. So our Miss Heartbreaker has actually a heart for the kids, eh. Hmm. Yeah, I think I’m free,” he nodded still looking in front. “Okay, thanks for accepting my invitation. . . and I’m not a heartbreaker,” I corrected him. he just smiled as a reply. We first dropped Thea at her house and then went straight to my house. Her Kuya just laughed at her state because she was really drunk. It was already past midnight so our travel time got shorter since there were lesser cars on the road. We went straight to our house. Geoff parked his car in front of our gate.   “Thank you. and sorry if we disturbed your night with your friends,” I said while getting off his car. “Don’t worry. They were quite boring so I don’t have any regrets,” he said. “I guess I’ll just see you on Saturday then?” I said in a hoarse voice. It’s the result of all the shouting and jamming at the bar.   “Yeah, see you,” this time he looked at me with his soft features. I know he looks tired but I can’t help but to still adore his face. Damn! His face is so angelic! Is there anything that’s not perfect in him? I barely made a half step away from his car when he suddenly called my name. I immediately turned back to look at him. ‘Do I get a goodnight kiss?’ I bit my lip due to my silly thoughts. Oh, come on. I’m getting crazy because of him. “Why?” I asked him. “Is it okay if I ask for your number? So we could hang out sometimes. You know. . . you, me, Thea and Neil,” he leaned closer to me as if he’s waiting for my approval. Of course the inner b***h in me absent-mindedly got my phone on my purse and showed him my number. Gosh, I want to be embarrassed with my thoughts and actions but this is my only chance!  “Got it!” he showed me his phone and saw my number already registered in his phonebook. Urgh! Don’t be like that, Geoff! The b***h in me is slowly waking up because of you! You’ll be sorry in the end.
