1960 Words

-William- “Just... let me help.” I had tried to tell her I would be fine on my own, but the princess was as stubborn as ever. She had even followed me to the room I’d been given. It wasn’t much—just a bed, a window, and a small chest for my clothes in a square room not far from hers, just a floor below. I had told her I would come find her in her room or at least outside it, since I was almost always guarding her, but she didn’t listen. Of course, she didn’t. When had she ever listened to me? “I’m fine. Please return to your room,” I said. She shook her head. So. Damn. Stubborn. “Please, princess, you shouldn’t be here. I need to take my shirt off to get to the wound and stitch it up,” I explained. She considered this for a moment before crossing her arms. “Well, then go ahead.”
