Chapter 4Wednesday morning, I got back to the book I was working on. The one my publisher was pestering me about, despite the fact he knew I had needed time to move. I dropped him a quick email to let him know I was going to push hard to get it finished, starting this morning. Taking a break for lunch and using the last of the bread I’d brought with me to make a sandwich, I ate while sitting on the back stoop, and then returned to work. I finally came up for air again around six, ate supper at the dining table like a normal person, and was back at it until eight when my eyes let me know it was time to quit for the day.
