My boss

Today is my fourth day at work. The days have flown by in a haze of new faces and so much work to do. My first day went really well and I think I’m getting along well with my colleagues too. I’m so happy. This is my fist salary paying office job. I think I’ve finally crossed the imaginary line between being a child and being an adult. Mom is so proud of me. Speaking of her, I’d have to call and inform her that I’ll be home late today. I pick my phone and begin searching through my contact list for her number. Can’t miss mom’s number. “ Hello” “ Hello, are you okay, darling? Is everything good? Why aren’t you back home yet?” “ Mom, everything’s fine. I just wanted to tell you that I’ll be late today because I have a ton of work to do” “ Okay baby, I understand. Just get home safely okay?” “ Sure mom, love you” “ Love you too” It is seven-thirty when I next check the time. The office is so quite to the point that it’s scary. I hurriedly pack my stuff and make my way towards the exit. Just as Kate opens the door, a tall man struts in. Her mouth drops open when she saw him clearly in the light. Wow. So young and attractive. Very attractive. He’s in a fine black suit, white shirt, and a black tie. He has unruly dark copper hair and the brightest blue eyes that stared at her shrewdly. It takes a moment for her to find her voice. Before she could say anything, he Dave her the embarrassment by speaking first, even if coldly. “ Who are you?” His tone is the coldest she had ever heard and his face is passive. “ Katherine Adams” she answered. “Please close your mouth Katherine, it’s disgusting “ he said and she visibly gasped. “ How rude!! Don’t you have any manners? Don’t you know how to speak to a lady? You are such a disappointment to the male species” “The nerve of this girl. Does she even know who she is currently talking to?” The man thought. “ You were practically gaping at me. Don’t you have any manners or at least some shred of dignity? Such a disappointment to the female species. “ Should i just slap him and run?” Kate contemplated, because he actually exuded a powerful aura. She maintained eye contact with him to show him that she was not the least bit afraid of him. “ I think I’m only eating my time talk it with you when I know for sure that people like you only think with your stomachs and talk with you asses” This time around, the man looked like he was about to expire with so much fury that she actually got goosebumps. His glare darkened to something quite sinister and he made his way towards her. She backed away from him until her back touched the wall. He brought his face close to hers until it was only a few inches apart from hers. “ what did you say?” He asked acidly. “ Repeat what you just said”. The vibration on his voice was clear. “ You wanna know what else we think and talk with?”
