Six Months Later

Since becoming Queen, I had a lot of work to do, I was working with a few lawmakers to get certain laws changed but the Head Elder was pushing back about the list of male suitors. I looked at him and said, "I told you, I am not ready to mate, there is no need to rush because anyone I choose, will be at my side, they will rule with me not push me into the background, so if you want me to mate your son, change the law." I looked at Willix saying, "No offense but this is bigger than just a simple mating," before I walked out holding my anger in. I admit, he was quite the charmer, I decided if I could get him to see me as the powerful Queen I am, maybe he would help convince his father to let me pick who I want to mate with when I am ready. I was summoned to Elder Joimar's office, I had just gotten ready and was about to take my place at Queen Marion's side when I saw Luc standing outside the door. He said, "Joimar asked me to step in for a few minutes," that way, the Queen is always protected so I can meet with him. The office was huge and he asked me about what the Queen had planned for the day and when would be a good time for his son to meet with her. I told him the basics and he smiled asking, "Is there anyone in the picture I should know about?" I was confused, he said, "I needed to know what or who my son is up against so I can get him mated to the Queen." I told him, "She doesn't have anyone," and he dismissed me, something tells me he wants his son on the throne as Marion suspected. I opened the door when he said, "How did you injure yourself?" He was looking at the bandage on my hand, I said, "I accidentally cut it with my dagger," he said, "Be careful, we need you in good shape to protect the Queen," and I closed the door.
