Chapter Nineteen By the time his brother walked in the door, Isaac had worked himself into quite the foul mood. He’d been scouring the damn village to find out who might be trying to set them up, and he’d found out that rather than helping him, Matthew had been picking up a random woman in the pub and taking her home. The only saving grace was she wasn’t a villager—Isaac had never seen her before. But it didn’t matter. As far as Isaac was concerned, his brother had stabbed him in the back twice with one stupid action, and he was furious. Especially since the chances were it was one of Matthew’s admirers who was the villain of the piece. “Hello, brother,” Matthew said, beaming as he strode into the living room, where Isaac had been fuming in silence for nigh on two hours.
