The uncertainty and fear weighed heavily on both of them, casting a somber shadow over their journey home.
As soon as they arrived home, Ranjana retreated to her room and sank onto the bed. Dev followed her and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Now you gotta take extra care of yourself, alright?" he said, gently easing Ranjana onto the bed. He rolled up the blanket and settled down beside her. Ranjana gazed into his eyes, tears streaming down her face.
"Didn't you hear what the doctor said?" He lovingly wiped away her tears. "No need to cry. You gotta take care of yourself. Eat on time, take your meds on time. And hey, we'll go for a stroll on Juhu beach every day, deal?"
Ranjana's lips curved into a smile upon hearing Dev's words.
