"When I fled from home and arrived at your house, I discovered that you had already left the city. I made countless attempts to find you, but I couldn't gather any information about your whereabouts. I am not bound to anyone in marriage, Virat. I am still the same Ranju that I was before."
As Ranjana finished her statement, Virat immediately reached out and pulled her hand, enveloping her in a tight grip.
The intensity of Virat's love was palpable, coursing through every cell of her body. He held her firmly, as if he never wanted to let her go. His rapid heartbeat conveyed his overwhelming happiness, and Ranjana couldn't help but feel the warmth radiating from his heart.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door, causing them to release their embrace and wipe away their tears. They turned their attention to the intruder, and it was Manish, wearing a smile on his face as he approached them.
"It's wonderful to see you both together again," Manish said, his voice filled with joy. "This pair should never be separated." With those words, Manish gently placed Ranjana's hand in Virat's hand. Ranjana blushed shyly, and Virat smiled in response.
"Thank you, Manish," Ranjana expressed her gratitude softly, her voice filled with genuine appreciation.
"No thanks between the three of us. Now I have to go. It's time for the flight." Manish said.
Virat and Manish hugged and Manish left.
Seeing Manish's car going, Ranjana looked at Virat.
"Virat, now I should go back to my house too. I have a meeting with Miss Julian today," Ranjana said, her smile brightening her face.
Virat felt a pang in his heart, wanting to tell Ranjana not to go.
This giant villa was hers, after all. But he didn't want to give her the wrong impression by expressing his desire to keep her with him. They had reunited after so many years, and he didn't want to make any mistakes.
"Okay. I'll inform the driver," Virat replied, placing his hand gently on Ranjana's head.
"Take care of yourself," Ranjana smiled, appreciating the familiar gesture from Virat. He had always told her to take care of herself with such love before she left.
After Ranjana left, Virat prepared himself to head to the office, his mind filled with thoughts of their reunion and the happiness they had found in each other's presence.
As usual, Assistant Jay was present to drive Virat to the office. While driving, Jay glanced at Virat through the rearview mirror and noticed a busy yet contented expression on his face. A grin and a faint smile appeared on Virat's lips after years of longing. Jay couldn't help but smile himself.
"Why are you smiling?" Virat's question made Jay panic momentarily, thinking that his boss had eyes in every direction. Without looking away from the road, Virat sensed Jay's gaze and smile.
"Sorry, boss. It's just nice to see happiness on your face after all these years," Jay replied slowly, feeling a sense of relief.
Upon hearing Jay's response, Virat smiled without saying a word, appreciating the understanding of his assistant.
…
Ranjana was making her way back to her desk accompanied by her colleagues after the meeting with Miss Julian had concluded.
“Hey, Ranjana.”
"Hi, Sridhar," Ranjana replied, trying to keep her tone polite. She wanted to leave, but Sridhar blocked her path, making it clear that he had something on his mind.
"Ranjana, it's lunchtime. Will you come and have lunch with me?" Sridhar asked, his intentions clear to Ranjana.
Ranjana was well aware of Sridhar's persistent requests to have meals together, which she always turned down.
Today, however, Sridhar was being more insistent, causing the attention of their colleagues to be drawn to them.
In the 52-story building, Ranjana stood out as the epitome of beauty. Her colleagues, especially the women, were often envious of her not just for her looks, but also for her exceptional skills and professionalism in her work.
Despite the pressure of the gaze from their colleagues, Ranjana remained composed.
"Ranjana," Sridhar called out, attempting to touch her left shoulder. Shocked by his inappropriate behavior, Ranjana quickly stepped back and firmly removed Sridhar's hand from her shoulder. The look of disgust on Ranjana's face was evident.
Just then, a woman's voice intervened, providing Ranjana with an opportune escape.
"Miss Bhardwaj, please come with me. The chairrman is looking for you," the woman said.
Ranjana didn't recognize her, but she was relieved to hear that Virat had summoned her. With a smile of gratitude, Ranjana walked alongside the tall, serious, and beautiful woman, Miss Mona, who was another one of Virat's assistants.
Ranjana and Miss Mona entered Virat's office on the forty-third floor, accompanied by a sense of curiosity and anticipation. As they stepped into the room, they found Virat deeply engrossed in his work, with Assistant Jay standing attentively before him.
Ranjana and Miss Mona positioned themselves near Virat's table, waiting for his attention. Virat, sensing their presence, momentarily glanced up from his work, his brows furrowing slightly in concentration. He acknowledged her arrival with a nod but continued to focus on the task at hand.
Mona, recognizing the urgency, addressed Virat first, breaking the silence in the room. "Sir," she began, "Miss Bhardwaj is here as you requested."
Virat's gaze shifted from his work to Ranjana, his eyes meeting hers. A flicker of warmth and recognition flashed across his face, and he instinctively knew that their reunion held great significance.
"Jay," Virat addressed his assistant, his eyes locked on Ranjana, and he passed the file to him. Jay acknowledged with a nod and exited the room with Mona, leaving Virat and Ranjana alone. Virat welcomed her with a gentle smile and drew nearer.
"Ranju, I don't want you to face any difficulties in this company, so from today onwards, you'll be under my direct supervision. Assistant Mona will handle all the necessary procedures for your transfer," Virat spoke in a deep voice.
