Naizen was so serious standing on his place while waiting for the President get done with his meeting with the other military officials. He couldn't imagine he will be seeing himself one of these days standing like a personal body guard — although, he is not a body guard for he is not a part of the president's personal guards.
"I know I wasn't wrong when I told Mr. President and the General that you are such good in everything you do."
He didn't even move an inch to see the woman who owns that voice for he already know who the heck is coming. He took a deep breath and bowed his head when Captain Llorente stood up in front of him wearing her uniform that shouts her position.
"Good day, Captain," he greeted that made the woman smiled like saucer and all.
"You look good, Alvarez, like always," said Faye.
"Thank you, Captain," he responded.
"You being assigned here in the palace means no longer part of my team, but doesn't matter to me for I need to make sure that I am making the best move. I was never been ashamed of telling you how I truly felt towards you, Naizen ----"
"I am at work, Captain. With all due respect, would you please stop telling me such thing? You know what would be my response to that," he said flatly and didn't bother to look at the Captain's eyes.
He saw how Captain Alvarez turned her sparkling eyes into the sharpest that it could be.
"Why? Because of that nobody, Yvonne?" said Faye looking agrily at Naizen whom now became the person he was when he is pissed.
"You won't like it when I am mad, Captain Faye Llorente. So I advice to you to watch out your words and be careful of using them. Especially if you are talking about the people I care — especially if it's about my woman," he said flatly with authority and looked at the woman very deeply.
"Do you think I will let you go easy with this, Naizen? There was never a thing that I like that I never get. What I want, I get. And that why I advice you that from now on, you should get yourself used of having me around you because you will never lost me," she said seriously that even sounded like the most desperate person he heard. "Watch your woman because in no time, you will find me laying in bed beside you and Yvonne? You will surely kick her out of our lives yourself, trust me," she added and turned her heels back at him.
Naizen gritted his teeth with what he just heard. "Indeed you get everything you want, Captain Faye Llorente. Thanks to your General of a father, you will get to rid off other people just for your desires," he mumbled under his breath without taking his eyes off at Captain Llorente.
He then narrowed his eyes when he heard a little noise from the inside of the room where the council's leader and the other military officials are having a meeting. He immediately moved back to his positions; and from his peripheral view he saw how the door opened widely and the people from the inside went out one by one.
If Captain Llorente and the other people in the positions think they can shake the ground he was standing, then, they are wrong. He came in this service with all the advantages in him.
"Alvarez, you don't have to stand by in everywhere I am. You are one of the soldiers that has given the task of surrounding the whole palace."
He bowed his head upon hearing those from the council's leader — the president, himself. Although they were told that they are not and will never be part of the President's personal security guard, he would still keep standing near the President. Things are not getting clearer day by day and he needs all the possible access he will be getting.
Not in this lifetime that he will fail this, for his brother.
"Yes, sir," he answered.
"We are going to be seeing the man, the eyes, the brain and the leader of the group ABYSS, you are going to be meeting the person that killed your brother, once again."
He gaped a little but never let the people around him see his change of expression. He glances at the General — Captain Llorente's father before he brought his attention back to the President.
"Yes, sir," he simply responded, nodding his head.
"Do you know why despite of your lack of training at the service, you are here? It's because we know your capability, even Captain Llorente won't tell us. You are an Alvarez, little brother of the brave late Captain Alvarez, if we follow the protocol and rules, you will not be here for those who are transfered in the palace are those who gained lots of experienced at the service but you and your best of friends, you guys are exceptional for you are more than experienced in combat and all before you entered military and that is why we cheated and broke the rules for you three. We are expecting for your great service, Mr. Alvarez," General Llorente said with that much seriousness and authority in his voice.
"We will surely give our full attention in this sir, thank you for your trust. I will honor my brother's name for I know how much he loves the country that he gave his own life for his team's safety. In front of you sir, the other officials and the President, I assure you that I will do all the descriptions of the job that are given to me," he said without even cracking the tiniest smile he could.
"I will see you at 1900, Mr. Alvarez," the President said and tapped his shoulder before the old man turned his back at him and the military officials — except for the General Llorente — followed.
He was giving a salute to all the officials that left until they are gone in his sight and now, he was left standing with the unmoving General Llorente.
"I wonder why my daughter think you are a good man. You are no different from your brother who also not so different from your father."
He would raise his brow like a dramatic character in every movies and books if they're in the place that he is not under the power.
"I have no idea what is that supposed to mean, Mr. General," he responded innocently.
"I know you are not dumb, Alvarez. You won't be an Alvarez if you are," the General said while looking straight to his eyes like he was a prey.
"I was living my life way too different from the life that my brother has, Mr. General; I was also not living the life my father made for our family, I bet you know that," he replied in his softest tone — soft but deep tone.
"Watch your feet, Alvarez. Always be minded of where you are going, what you are stepping, you might get bitten."
"Don't worry, Mr. General. I know whom I should make friends."
