CHAPTER TEN
Nearly forty-five minutes later we arrived at his cottage and it was quite extravagant, to say the least, but more importantly, it was private. It almost felt surprisingly…homely. The moment we stepped inside we were greeted by a lady of about fifty-something years old. She had a kind smiling on her face and that was pretty surprising, to be honest. I thought with his arrogant attitude and obsession with class, he would have hired some supermodel to be the caretaker.
“Ryan welcome home. I saw the news. I’m so happy for you dear,” I could tell she had a deep affection for Ryan.
“And you must be the girl who has stolen my boy’s heart. I’m Veronica,” she extended a hand towards me smiling broadly. I decidedly liked her already.
