*Joes POV*

Boban and my father are looking at me like I have two heads, and JAX is going nuts chanting MATEMATEMATEMATE. All I can think is, well, f**k me. I stare at her. She is strong. I can see that, and then I come undone. She cracks a smile. I want to be the one who makes her smile. As I’m watching, she tries her arms around Boban's mate's neck for a hug, and they all head towards the drinks table. I’m taken from my thoughts when Alpha Brian Approaches us. Welcome, Joe; glad you can make it. I do apologise for the unruly wolf who disturbed the party. I look at the Alpha and shake his hand and say nothing of it; I got here when it was finished.

Alpha Brian thinks I can’t believe my betas son was my daughter’s mate and rejected her. He looks down and then back up. He put his hands on her JAX is instantly on guard he touched our mate he rejected our mate Jax wants blood I soothe him and say she is our mate we will get her Jax it will just take the time we need to be smart she just got rejected Jax agrees and settles into the back of my mind. Alpha Brian can have a word in private Alpha Brian nods and leads me to the Alphas office 4th floor. When we reach the 4th floor, I’m hit with the smell of cinnamon cookies. I follow the scent to a closed door. The Alpha, let’s put a low growl.

I look at him and say, what’s in here? The Alpha suddenly changes his attitude to a proud one. This is my grandson's room. I look at him, puzzled. He sighs. Robyn was r***d by the alpha of the black moon pack he didn’t know here standing and just thought she was an omega child you know how that pack has no regard for age I nod, so Robyn has a son I say puzzled Alpha Brian nods and asks if I want to see him I nod because the smell of cinnamon cookies has Jax wishing to see who is behind the door. We walk into the room, and the scent is so strong, and I pick up Robyn’s scent in the room. Also, Jax is dancing in my mind and showing his belly. I laugh at his childishness.

I walk to the crib, and I’m just shocked. I see a chubby little boy peacefully sleeping. I stare at him as alpha Brian for the boy's name. Eric, the alpha reply’s I nod and reach down to touch his cheek. I get a small zap to my hand, and it runs up to my heart. This little boy will be my son, I say to myself. What Alpha Brian says and I pull my hand back and say we should talk In your office he nods but gives me some side-eye we leave Eric’s room and I close his door I blow out a breath I didn’t realise o was holding and follow the alpha to his office. So what did you want to talk about, Joe? Well, I say sheepishly, Robyn is my mate! The alphas jaw drops, and he shakes his head. No, that can’t be her mate rejected her only this morning then looks at me again and asks does she know I say no he nods I walk to his balcony and look out at the party then I spot her she is breathtaking so elegant and everything I have ever wanted in a mate and has killer curves I thank the goddess for making me her second chance mate. I was pulled by my thoughts when the alpha handed me a whisky and said, she is going to be a lot of hard work. You know I nod and say, well, she is worth it. The alpha looks at me and says, what about the age difference? I shrug and say it’s nothing 8years difference isn’t a big issue for me; Brian slaps me on the back and tells the correct answer. I laugh. He then gets a serious look and asks, what of Eric? Will you protect my daughter and her pup? I look him in the eyes and say, with everything I have, Eric is my pup Alpha nods and says, well, welcome to the family. While I’m looking at my beautiful mate, I nod and say, well, I hope she accepts me and smiles at the alpha sheepishly. He laughs and says, and this is true, son, this is true. We stand watching for a minute longer, then she looks up and waves at The Alpha, then she looks over to me, and she knocks the breath right out of my lungs. We lock eyes, and I’m lost in a sea of blue-grey. This little lady doesn’t know it yet, but she owns me.

Robyn’s POV

After what happens earlier, I am so mad at Darren. Thank the goddess. He rejected me and is now banished! Vanessa and the future Luna of the eclipse pack Lauren have cheered me up but I have been distracted mishka is going insane in my head screaming Mate is here and I don’t understand my mate rejected me so I block her out but the scent of sugar and spice is also distracting me it’s absolutely mouth watering iv been scanning the crowd for the owner of the smell and I can’t locate it so I shrug my shoulders and begin to sway my hips to the music playing my mum comes up and gives me a hug and informs me that Eric is asleep and I thank her for organising a nanny for the night Byron has also come up and apologised for his sons rejection I shrug it off and ask where my father is Byron points up to the balcony and sure enough my dad is there looking over his pack with pride then I notice and man with him looking directly at me I wave at my dad and then I look at the man and I’m frozen in place he has the most beautiful green eyes I have ever seen we lock eyes and the world falls away mishka is back screaming mate and I shut her down I break eye contact and look out knowing I’ll be in for another rejection all the negative things that where said flood back in. Vanessa brings me another drink and says, no, you don’t know you are not going back down that road. Let’s live for now. I sadly smile and say ok. We dance for a while. Boban Laurens mate joins us, and he winks at me and wishes me a happy birthday. I let out a loud hoot, and the pack does the same.
