I woke up feeling so incredibly content. As I opened my eyes, I was even a little bit confused. It had been a long time since I had slept so deeply that I didn’t know where I was when I woke up, but then I felt Amber stir a little. I turned my head and saw her curled up at my side, a smile on her lips while she slept. Seemed like she was quite worn out too, but very happy. It made me smile to see, and I pulled her closer, kissing the top of her head, and smelling her mixed scent that now had a hint of me.
Perfect. She smelled f*cking perfect, because anyone would know just by getting close to her that she was mine. I had forgotten how possessive I could get. This might even be a little more extreme, because I had already lost one mate. I wondered if it was the same with my father
