I stood there for a few seconds, observing her. I detested what I had done to her. It was evident she was more scared now than angry, and I didn’t want her to be, but in her mind, she was now trapped with the villain, not the one attempting to aid her.
So, of course, it was no real wonder she was scared, and I wasn’t sure there was much I could do for her. She didn’t trust me, and I bet, besides being scared, she was also very irritated with me.
