*** Part of Chapter 6 ***

*

“I don’t really understand how a girl like you can have a good guy for a brother like Justin.” Jace says, and I roll my eyes. Justin left, along with the nice Jace. I guess he couldn’t wait any longer to insult me.

“A girl like me?” I asked him with narrowed eyes. Amy and Logan are flirting with each other, so they don’t really pay attention to us. Jace turns to me with a hard expression.

“Yeah, a sl*t, a spoiled brat who gets everything she wants in her whole life, not caring if she hurts someone in the process.” He says sternly.

“So that’s what you think about me, huh?” I asked him while I tried to hide how much his words hurt me.

“That’s what I see,” he says with a shrug.

“Well… I don’t give a f*ck about your opinion, since you don’t know sh*t about me or my family. Who do you think you are to judge me?” I asked him but I didn’t wait for him to answer and decided to walk out to buy some popcorn before the film started. That would give me time to calm down a bit.

‘That stupid b*stard needed to open his mouth again , he didn’t even wait for my brother to walk out of the room.’ I thought to myself as I walked to the popcorn stand while taking deep breathes to calm myself down.

The 23 years old Kyra Smith was determined to take revenge on all the players who crossed her path, after her second break up. In the name of all the heartbroken girls she vowed to teach the 'playboys' a lesson and let them taste their own medicine by making them fall in love with her, then dump them in the same way as they did to innocent and naive girls before. Her plan was working out fine till she met her third victim's cousin, Jace, who insulted her at every chance he got for breaking his brother's heart.

Chapter 1
*** Kyra’s POV *** * I wake up to my dangerously annoying alarm at seven am. I say dangerously annoying, because once on a Monday, after a Sunday party ,it made me soooo mad, I threw my phone across the room, hitting my roommate with it right on the middle of her forehead. She had a big, blue hump for two weeks and it was f*cking hilarious. That was a good morning, but this one? Meh… I get out of my bed, because I need to use the bathroom urgently, but I let out a groan when I see my roommate’s bed is already empty. I knock on the door a few times, but after a few minutes of waiting I can’t be ladylike anymore. “For god's sake Christine, hurry up already.” I shouted in the front of the bathroom door because, well… I can’t hold it any longer and she always does this just to annoy me. “Almost done, stop crying already.” She shouts back and I roll my eyes. She always says that too. “If you don’t come out in ten seconds I will pee on your f*cking bed, I swear.” I threaten her and the door opens in less than five seconds. “I should have asked for another roommate ages ago.” She murmurs as I walk past her hurriedly and close the door behind me. I pulled my shorts down and sat on the toilet with a sigh of relief. As you already suspected, we don’t get along very well with Christine. She doesn’t like ‘my kind’ as she put it and I honestly don’t give a f*ck what she thinks about me. She is a goody-twoshoe and there is nothing wrong with that, but I was not like her. At least not anymore. Life is brutal and I needed to learn things on the hard way, so it changed me. Heartbreaks make you stronger and smarter, but they also cause trust issues and paranoia and that’s no fun, not at all. I walk out of the bathroom as I am done with my business and, luckily, Christine is already gone. I headed to my closet and dressed up in tight black jeans, a white tank top and wore my white high heels and my leather jacket. I checked myself out in the mirror for the last time before grabbing my bag and walking out of my dorm room, towards the school building. Oh.. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Kyra Smith, I am 23 years old and I have long dark blonde hair, blue eyes and a fit body with long legs. I am a law student at the university of New York and I am actually on my way to my first lecture of the day. “Hi Kyra.” “Good morning.” “You look good today.” I said ‘Hi’ and waved back to a few people. This is my third year here, so people know me well enough. Girls call me a sl*t behind my back, while they l*ck my shoes at any chance they get. Boys call me the ‘black widow’ amongst themselves because of my ‘ways of dating’, but I don’t care about that either. Anybody can kiss my a*s who doesn’t like the way I am, till they don’t f*cking know the story behind it. “Kyra… Kyra… slow the f*ck down already.” I turned around to see my one and only best friend, Amy, running towards me breathlessly. “Oh.. sorry. I didn’t hear you. What’s up?” I asked her when she finally caught up with me. “That god damn bus was late again.” She huffs as she wipes the sweat away from her forehead. “I told you, you should move in with me. My roommate annoys the hell out of me all the damn time.” I tell her and she rolls her eyes. “Actually, I am busy getting my driving license so we can go wherever we want and whenever we want as soon as I have it.” She says with a grin. “Yeah, you have said that two years already.” Now it’s my turn to roll my eyes at her. “I know, but this time for real, dad took me to practice a few times and now I won’t fail again, I am sure.” She says confidently. She has failed her routine five times already and I am not sure if she should ever get a driving license at this point. “If you say so..” I told her as we reached our destination. We head into the lecture hall and go to the back row where we usually sit. A few minutes later, the professor arrives and starts the lecture, but there is a knock on the door and a guy steps in breathlessly. “Good morning. Sorry, sir. It’s my first day.” I hear him saying, but I don’t really pay attention to him. “Just take a seat.” The professor says with a sigh and the guy walks to an empty seat, but just as I look up, I see him winking at a few girls in the front row who start giggling sheepishly. “I think he could be your next ‘target’.” Amy whispers next to me, but I just shrug my shoulders. “Nah… I need some time to myself as well. I just broke up with Nick a few days ago,” I told her. Nick is a student here and he is in the football team as well. C*cky as hell, but since ‘Me’, he has changed a lot and doesn’t go after girls anymore. Now he has got to taste his own medicine and he is crying after me like he made all those girls cry in the past. He promised them the stars from the sky , but dumped them after he got to have s*x with them and that too…in a single text. I mean…. who does that…? Actually I did, after he confessed his love for me. “Yeah, that ‘few days’ was actually two weeks ago.” She says matter of factly and I roll my eyes at her once again. “Whatever.” I told her and turned to the professor. Let me tell you a few things about myself. I date ONLY players, but just to teach them a lesson not to break the hearts of innocent girls just because they want them for a good f*ck. If they want someone just for a night, then they should say so for God's sake and don’t get their hopes up with cheesy lines like ‘I want to be with you forever…’ or ‘You are special…’ blah-blah-blah. So, after my second serious heartbreak two years ago, which is a story for another time, I decided not to fall in love ever again… at least not till I am thirty… and teach the f*ckboys a lesson which comes in my way. I became this better version of myself who doesn’t give a f*ck about love, instead of being an innocent naive girl who waits for true love. That sh*t only exists in books. Suddenly, I felt eyes on me, so I looked up from my notebook to look around. My eyes right away caught a pair of hazel ones and I couldn’t look away. He’s the latecomer and, I must admit, he is eye-candy. He stared at me for a few more seconds and I held his gaze without blinking with a blank expression on my face. Then he winks at me with a smug smirk on his face and turns back towards the front. ‘What was that about?’ I guess Amy is right and he could be my next target, but I will need to see first if he is a player as he seems like at first glance. He is a good looking guy, no question there. He has hazel eyes, dark brown hair, muscles in the right places, at least as much as I can see through his hoody and he is very tall too. Just how I like them. When the lecture is over, I gather my things and walk out with Amy. I catch the guy looking at me a few times and I start to find it strange. Here are a lot of nice girls who try to get his attention and his eyes are on me, who don’t even give a sh*t about him. “Why was he looking at you like that? Do you know him?” Amy asks when we are walking in the corridor. “No.” I told her simply. I don’t want to tell her that I find it strange too, because that would mean I care, but I don’t, so I don’t say anything else. “Whatever… so… are we going to Logan’s party next weekend?” She asks and I roll my eyes. “I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to go, but just go if you want.” I told her. “Kyraaaa… I don’t want to go alone.” She whines. “Then don’t go.” I told her with a shrug. “But I want to, please, please, pretty please.” She pleads and I let out a sigh. She has a crush on Logan and she has been begging me to go for days already. “Amy, we already talked about this. I don’t think they would want me to go.” I explained to her. Logan is a friend of Nick and he is also in the football team. We talked a few times when I was dating his friend and he seemed like a good guy, but I don’t think he would be too happy if I showed up at his party after breaking his friend’s heart. “Okay… I understand.” She says sadly and I kind of feel sorry for her. “Look, why don’t you ask someone else to go with you?” I asked her and she shrugged her shoulders. “Because you are my best friend, but I guess I will do that.” She says as we head into the hall where our second lecture will take place. We sit in the back and soon more students walk in. “He is here.” Amy whispers excitedly, and I look up to see who she is referring to. Logan walks in with the new guy side by side and they are laughing about something, but then I spot Nick behind them, so I look away quickly like I didn’t see him and I make myself busy on my phone. “Oh my god, they are coming here.” Amy says, and I don’t bother to look up from the screen. “Hi girls. Will you come to my party next Friday?” I finally looked up at Logan, who had a broad grin on his face and I looked at Amy, who just stared at him like a lovesick puppy. I rolled my eyes at her and let out a sigh before turning to Logan, while I ignored the other two. “Is that an invitation?” I asked Logan with a smirk. “It is… so? Will you be there?” He asks again and I glance at the new guy who hasn’t taken his eyes off of me since they came in. Then at Nick, who looked at me with a pained expression on his face. I almost feel bad for him…. Almost. “I don’t know if it’s a good idea for me to go.” I tell Logan while I throw a glance at Nick and he looks at Nick as well, understanding my point. “Oh…Come on, it will be fun.” Logan says. “Yes Kyra… come on.” Amy says, and I look at her with a murderous look before turning back to the guys with a sigh. “Alright, I guess we can step in for a bit.” I told them and Amy and Logan grinned at me happily. “Cool, I will send you the address.” Logan says and walks away with the new guy to sit down, but Nick is just standing there, watching me, like he wants to say something. I looked at him and raised my eyebrows. “Can I help you?” I asked him with a blank expression. “Hmm… Can we talk… please?” He asks and I actually feel sorry for him. “Not now.” I told him as I pointed to the front where the professor had just walked through the door. ‘Thanks Prof, good timing.’ “Then maybe another time, I guess.” He says sadly and I nod my head before he follows his friends. “You are the best.” Amy whispers excitedly and I just shake my head while thinking about how much I already regretted agreeing.
