WAHAAJ’S POV: Reaching home, I went to my room and took a shower. I was getting ready for work when, Abeera came into our room. She was fidgeting with the end of her stole. I knew that she wanted to say something. I faced her and raised my eyebrow in question. “Um… I’m sorry.” She said in a small voice, looking down. I walked towards her an stopped a foot away from her. “For what?” I asked in a cold tone. “For, um.. Misu-unders-standing you.” She kept her eyes on the floor. I held her chin and made her look at me. “I-I should’ve listened to your explanation. I blamed you without even thinking.” She spoke as her eyes filled and her lips quivered. I wasn’t the type to forgive but the sight melted my heart. I placed my hand on her cheek softly. “ It’s okay, I should’ve explained, but I just threatened you and left.” I told her. “So, am I forgiven?” She asked, looking up at me through her lashes. “Yes” I smiled at her. But her next move surprised the hell out of me. She placed a soft hand on my left cheek and leaned to kiss my right one, all while standing on her toes. As she moved back, I pulled her hand from my cheek and kissed her fingertips and knuckles, instead of her hand. “Breakfast.” She whispered. Looking at her, I saw beetroot red cheeks. I placed a kiss on her forehead and together, we went for breakfast. -------------- On the breakfast table: “Mom, will you please go to Mr. Faheem’s house?” i asked Mom and Abeera gave me a confused look. “Ok… But for what?” She asked me. “I want you to go there with Ayyan’s marriage proposal for Saira.” I explained. “What? Are you serious?” Mom asked excitedly and Abeera looked pretty happy as well. “Yes. Ayyan asked me to do so.” I told her. Ayyan doesn’t have family. So as his best friend, it is my duty to do things like this for him. “Okay. Abeera and I will go there tomorrow.” Mom told me. ABEERA’S POV: Wahaaj and I were on our bed at night, when he turned to me and asked. “Abeera, you don’t have any problem with the wedding, right?” “Of course not. Ayyan bhai is so nice. Why will I have a problem?” I replied and smiled at him whereas, he smiled back. “How can you forgive me so easily?” I inquired, thinking of this morning. “I didn’t have an option. Seeing tears in the eyes of your love is more difficult than forgiving.” He told me as he caressed my cheeks. His words resulted in me being more ashamed of myself. I moved forward and snuggled in his chest and he wrapped his arms around me, kissing my head. I sighed in relief, thinking that I’ll be getting a good night’s sleep. His scent made me feel safe and calmed my nerves.
