The following morning after getting little sleep, Cole was woken up by his family coming to his home. "Did she come home?" His mom asked as soon as she walked in. "Good morning to you too mom. No she did not come home and I searched all the places I could think of." "This is not the time for your smart mouth." His father said in an annoyed tone. "Maybe we should inform the police." Chris said looking at dad. "Don't you have to be missing for 24 hours before a report is filed?" I asked. "Really? Now you want to follow the law when it concerns your wife?! When in any other situation you would throw in our name to get what you want?" Chris said annoyed while looking at his brother. "Hey! I was only asking. And didn't I tell you last night not to talk to me like that?" He said back annoyed too. "Oh! You mean the time you practically accused me of having an affair with your wife?!" "What?!" "Cole!" His parents practically shouted at the same time. "I did not accuse you of having an affair..." "What do you call it when you tell me I give your wife all the attention so I should know where she could be.huh?" "Okay both of you stop it!" Father said. "You keep letting me down with this behaviour. This is not the son I have always known and I hope you can work on whatever issues have gotten into you." "To be honest dad, I would run away too if my partner embarrassed me the way that he did to her." I gave Chris an evil and was about to respond when mom beat me to it. "Chris is right. I can only imagine how that girl felt when her husband decided to favour another man's wife while she sat there. She may be family but that girl is only knowing us and she obviously felt alone. What were you thinking Cole? I sure did not raise you that way. The way you are treating her is beyond me." "Both of you are right. But this not the time to talk about that. We need to find her I made a promise to my dear friend that his daughter was in perfect hands. Once she is found, you and I will have a serious talk Cole." His father looked at him dead in the eyes. That girl just wants attention. I thought to myself after seeing the expression on father's face. They continued searching for her until later. They had reported her missing and the police were out searching for her. His family had gone back home but, he couldn't figure out why he couldn't go to bed. Maggy had offered to come over but, he told her it wasn't a good time as he was bee closely watched by his and get family. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ It was late at night when he was awakened by someone hitting into the table near the entrance of the house. "Sh*t." He heard again and stood up from the sofa. He saw Mika stumbling into the living room and she seemed drunk. "Are you drunk?" He asked in disbelief. She jumped in fright and looked at him. "You scared me." She slurred her words as she noticed him. "You've been gone for two nights I can say and you come back drunk?" "Shhhhh. Stop shouting." She smiled at him but even in her drunken state he could see that it was a sad smile. "Where have you been?" "Its not like you care where I have been. I was giving you space." He looked at her confused. "What do you mean'giving me space'?" She dragged herself to the sofa and threw herself on it. She looked at him and sadly smiled at him. "You know when I was younger, I met this boy. He was confident and serious on the face, I thought he was cute." He walked and sat at the far end of the couch. "Where have you been?" She looked at him"giving you space." "Why do you keep saying that?" She looked deep in thought, "I always thought that when I got married it would be out of love." She looked at him and said,"movies lie to you. They show that you mostly get who you crush on and you Are the confident boy I had a crush on when I was young." I knew it. He thought to himself. So she does think I'm a challenge. "Oh I got you alright or did I? I did nothing to you yet you hate me. I did have a crush on you but, I thought we would meet, fall in love then marry.I didn't want a marriage like this, I only hoped you wouldn't blame me like cliche stories. You did blame me. I only prayed that it was my only punishment. " "What punishment are you talking about?" "You blaming me. That you would get to know me and change your opinion about me." She laughed. "Boy was I wrong. I don't even know what I was thinking." "What are you going on and on about? You are not making sense." He was trying to understand what she was saying and where she was going with the story. "I came to look for you. Well, I was asked to call you." My heart dropped. Did she come to my old room and saw us. "I was expecting to be yelled at or ignored like always, only this time I got some shock. There was my husband." She looked down and whispered the word husband like a question."I'm sorry I forgot this is not a marriage to you. Anyway my housemate was sitting with a woman on his lap making out, he flipped her over and continued to make out. Obviously you did other things." She looked at me as though she was studying me. " So I left to give you to give you some space. I know that I mean nothing to you but, you really hurt me." I felt ashamed to gave been caught. The expression she had as she recalled what she saw broke my heart. She stood up abruptly and looked at his then started laughing but, that didn't last long as she started to cry. He got up and tried to touch her only the next thing he felt was a slap to the face. He was shocked as he had never been slapped that hard by a woman in his life. Maybe his mother but not a woman like this. She started to hit his chest as she cried. He managed to hold her hands and restrain her. She begged as she cried, " please just let me go. Grant me a divorce and I can no longer be a burden to you or your family. I will say it is my fault." She said in between sobs. He held onto her and pulled her until he was sitting and she was on his lap. Despite the unpleasant moment, he was enjoying having her in his arms. She leaned into him as she continued crying, he could still smell the boozes off of her though that wasn't important right now. He sat there thinking of what to do and how to go about everything. Maggy was the only girl he had loved and didn't know how to let go even after they both married. He looked down at the beauty in his arms and noticed she had fallen asleep. He carried her to her room and laid her on the bed. It was the first time to enter her room since she moved in with him. He was impressed at how organized she was. " I have informed your family of her return." He looked at Maria who seemed to be mad at him and he knew she heard everything. She was like an aunt to him with how long she had been with the family. "Thank you Maria." She walked into the room. "You can go now. I will take over." She said leaving no room for discussion. I left the room after given one last glance towards who was on the bed. That night he got little sleep again as he tossed and turned all night thinking about what she said.
