LONELY KISS

I can't believe I'm here right now. Never in my life did I think I would be standing in front of this mirror yet not see myself looking at me. "you look beautiful Mika " i heard Monique speak as i looked at both my sisters through the mirror. I sighed. " Am I making a mistake?" They moved closer to me and made me sit down. "This is what you've always dreamed about. You have wanted this man for as long as you met him, however, you need to ask yourself if that is worth it. Because if you want to back out then you know Monique and I will always support you." Shine said. "That's true. And if you need sometime away then you can come and stay with either of us and it's not a problem." I looked down to my hands, "I don't want to disappoint dad. And maybe things will be different when he gets to know me." "Sis, if that is what you want then we will be beside you every step of the way. Just know that there is no shame in walking out if things are toxic and negative for you." We heard someone knocking on the door. After letting the person know that it was safe to enter, mom and dad came into the room. "OMG! my baby is all grown up and beautiful." my mom said excited and gave me a hug. " you look really beautiful baby girl. I hope your marriage will be happy and I know that Cole is going to take care of you. I gave him a talk." dad said as he gave me a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you daddy." " If you are ready to leave for the church, we can cause Cole and his family are already there." We all left the room and headed to the church. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I took a peak at my dad and saw him smiling just like almost all the guests were. I looked up to see if my groom showed any sign of happiness and was greatly disappointed to see that he had no smile on his face and he wasn't really looking at me. I followed his eyes and saw him looking at a woman who was in the audience and had a sad look on her face. This made me so sad as I had never thought I would marry someone who had no love for me. Here I was about to marry with no love. °flashback° I walked into the restaurant looking for him, I spotted him sitting at the far end near a window. I slowly walked towards him. "Hello." he looked up from his phone and without really paying me any attention he continued on his phone. I sat down and waited for him to sat down and waited for him to acknowledge me. The waiter came and got my order. He came back with my order minutes later and yet he still never said a word. "Ummmm are you going just to be on your phone all day?" He looked up and put his phone away. "Lets get some things straight. What is your plan?" I looked at his strangely. "What do you mean?" "What's in it for you with this marriage?" I was lost for words, since I was young I dreamt of this guy to even look at me. Now that he is, it is not the look I was hoping for. "I don't know what you are implying but, this came as a shock to me as it did to you I'm sure.So I don't understand your question." "I may not know what you are upto but, I need you to understand something. I don't love you and I will never love you. I don't know what our families are planning and what they plan to achieve by marrying two people who don't love each other. One thing I will tell you is that it will never work." °end of flashback° I stood in front of my husband to be, I noticed that he kept stealing glances at one petite beautiful woman. He had a look of sadness in his eyes. Never in my life did I imagine that I would be marrying someone who never loved me. He was hesitant to say 'I do' and seemed to get approval from the lady in the crowd, who seemed to also be looking at him but trying to do it secretly. The man sitting next her was holding her hand and would at times kiss her hand. The reception was no different, he paid me no attention and I sat there sad as my family had to entertain the guests. "Where is the groom my dear?" I looked up and saw my father in law. "I'm sure he's just somewhere, maybe with a friend" "how are you doing my dear?" "I'm okay." "I need you to know that your father and I have the best interest in uniting our families. I promise to treat you just like my own and feel free to come to me if anything is bothering you." I just nodded my head because I didn't know what else to say. "Let me find the groom and bring him back to the party" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That is how I started my marriage. I would love to say that I enjoyed the honeymoon. I spent that on my own and exploring the place while he mopped around at the room as well as on is laptop. At night he slept on the sleeper couch while I had the bed to myself. When we got back home, he had me sleeping in one of the guest bedrooms and himself in the maser bedroom. He left for work before I woke up and returned late at night. Sometimes I heard him late at night and sometimes I didn't. The only other person who kept me busy was the house help Mary. She would always tell me to not lose hope as things may change. I highly doubt because unless a miracle happens there was no hope. Since getting married three months ago, we have hardly spoke. So today I have decided to wait for him to arrive home. It was a little after mid night that I heard him return home. "I'm glad you are home." "why are you still up?" "I just wanted to have a little talk." He had a look of guilt on his face. "i'm tired and would like to rest." "I knew you would say that, I won't take up your time. We have barely spoken since we got married, you hardly come home and I know you have reminded me over again that you do not love me.
