>> Gray couldn’t fall back asleep. After waking up to find that Kristie had left already without even bothering to leave a note, he was unable to stay in bed. The bed smelled like her and it was driving him crazy. Why had she left? He paced his small apartment, smoking a cigarette. In the morning sunlight, the romantic haze that had covered the night before was quickly vanishing, replaced with the reality of what they had done. They’d had s*x twice.
