Chapter Eight “They seemed happy,” Bennett says as we make our way to the hotel where we are staying. “Yeah. I have to admit that they do,” I reply. Dinner had gone smoothly. Adam, still quiet, had at least spoken more than two words to me. Conversation flowed easily although part of me credits Bennett for that. He knows how to talk to people. He knows how to keep them talking. There were no awkward silences. At one point even Emily admitted she was surprised at how well dinner was going, especially with the sudden arrival of Bennett.
