Chapter two

CHAPTER TWO "He has been checking you out for a while now," Jade shouted over the loud music, ushering with her chin to the raven-haired guy leaning by the door, a bottle of what appeared to be whiskey in his hand. Whiskey? Everybody else was holding red cups except for him. My gaze turned back to Jade. She was gyrating on one of our classmates. Ben, I think.   "I know. Looks like I'm getting laid tonight after all," I shouted back, a knowing nervous smile curling up my lips. Maybe parties were not that bad after all.   If I hadn't been this drunk, I would definitely never have shouted like that. I mean, sure this was a campus party and nobody really gave a flying rat about anything anyone said but I was not really the type to talk like that in front of anyone. If my brother had heard that, he would have shackled me on my bed and posted a six-foot buffy bodyguard outside my bedroom door. I chuckled lightly under my breath at the thought of Danny, quickly reminding myself that he was not here tonight.   Even as I drowned the last contents of my cup, I could still feel his arresting gaze on me. I made my way to him, a flicker of interest instantly hitting his eyes. His orbs looked dark but then I was drunk and could hardly pronounce my own name without slurring a bit.   “You have been checking me out for a while. You like what you see?” I played with the loose end of my dark hair and despite the beer running through my system, I was still a nervous wreck inside. For a moment his gaze just held mine and the imminent thought that I was not doing this right, made me almost totter away in embarrassment. Then a small smirk broke on the edge of his lips and I almost sighed out loud in relief.   “Not yet…but I guarantee if you show me what’s underneath that prim dress, I could love what I see,” Prim? Just because my dress happened to be an inch below my knees it didn’t exactly announce prim.   “Does that line ever work for you?” I asked, trying not to stagger on my knees First time getting drunk was really tough and in truth, I had only taken one cup of some cheap booze they were serving. The thing had tasted really foreign on my tongue and after tonight I was never going to drink again, not that Danny would even let me out of his sight ever again.   “It has gotten me laid a couple more times than you,” he replied, an air of confidence swirling around his words.   “How would you know how many times I have been laid?” Curiosity did kill the cat but it was a part of me I could not run from.   He leaned in, his cologne instantly hitting my face. Damn. It was way more addictive at such close proximity. I was tempted to bury my nose in his chest and sniff it. Wow, I had to be way drunk than I had estimated.   “How about we get out of here and I’ll tell you?” he whispered in my right ear.   “I was wondering when you’d ask,” It was getting really hard to keep myself up on my feet without succumbing to the woozy feeling.   We began walking out of the crowded house, feeling his arm around my waist. I staggered slightly but felt much better when the cold evening air hit my face. He pushed me against the side of a car in the parking lot before leaning forward to capture my lips. Before his lips could quiet brush mine, the imminent urge to throw up overwhelmed me. The smelly stench of my own vomit on him was off-putting enough. Eyes wide open and breath hitching I pushed my back against the car sidestepping a little.   “I-I’m so sorry,” I stuttered for once glad that the darkness was covering me otherwise he could have seen my flushed face.   When he didn’t say a word, I took the opportunity to flee from the parking lot. I didn’t bother waiting for Jade as I rushed away from the party. My head was now clear and the woozy feeling had dissipated into the thin air. With half my arms exposed, the chill of the night cold did not give me any rest. This had been the one night that I had for me to get drunk, make out with some random strangers and make mistakes without having Danny reprimand me about what could be at stake.   I must have been so lost in my thoughts cussing at my misfortune that if my heel had not been caught by a tuft of grass by the gravely road, I would have probably walked right past the apartment I shared with Jade.   After a quick warm shower, I wore my light blue PJs before making myself a cup of coffee. Sitting in front of the couch with the cup firmly held between both my palms, I stared at the blank screen in front of me. I could still hear the loud party music from afar but I knew better than to step back there and make a complete fool of myself again. What I dread the most was having to face Danny when he got back to campus tomorrow. Somehow I knew he was going to find out I went to a party and if I had balls he would have probably castrated me for it. But I guess that was what I could get when my brother was the Student President of Maseno University. Pushing the thoughts to the back of my brain, I let the steam liquid bathe my lips while hoping against the possibility of Danny finding out I went to a party.
