LILY
Lily looked around the campus grounds. Baran had dropped her off at college. Though “dropped off” sounded more as if he was bringing her back to her dorm room like a gentleman. In reality, she shot out of Baran’s car like a bat out of hell in need of a bloody stiff drink.
Her mind raced a million miles an hour as she padded toward her dorm room.
He had tricked her. Tricked her father, Enzo, and everyone else in that room. Why? Her thoughts mulled over that age old question, over and over, but she couldn’t come up with one likely, logical scenario in which Baran Kaplan would willingly want to marry her.
