“@Randomthoughts: "If I won the award for laziness, I would send somebody to pick it up for me."   >>>>>>>  Ruby`s Pov I woke up, opening my eyes to find myself surrounded by trees. With darkness all around, showing that it was still night. “What the-,” I quickly said after trying to move my hands and being unable to. It seems that I was bound and restrained to this big tree with strong chains. I tried using my Vampire strength to break them and free myself, but Vervain was still in my system making me still be pitifully weak. Being a fool, I had drunk a whole bottle of it at that club. It would take days before it was fully out of my body and system. Hearing footsteps, I turned to see that it was Brock, that mean bastard. “So, the bloodsucker is awake huh. It’s a shame how all that beauty is wasted on such an evil creature,” he rudely said, complimenting and insulting me at the same time. I instead just silently glared at him. “To be useful, you are going to tell me the true location of the main Vampire castle or you die.” He continued now with his vampire hunter knife out. Moving closer to painfully trace the sharp edge on my skin. Taking the chance, I quickly moved my head and headbutted him right on the forehead.  He jumped to get away now clutching a newly formed, red painful bump. “I would never betray my brother like that. This evil bloodsucker would rather die.”  I smugly responded with sarcasm grating the words through my teeth.  Vampire hunters were always trying to find the secret location of the Main Vampire castle. So, they could attack us in our sleep. But we never let them find it, and any human who did always had their minds wiped before they could tell.  And right now, it was also where my brother’s family lived including his children, my cute nephews the little Vampire Princes. I would never put them in harm. I was their lovable aunt, always spoiling them whenever I could. I would rather die. “You b***h-“Brock quickly snarled with hatred while moving to get his revenge on a helpless female like myself. I closed my eyes preparing for the pain as he looked like he was ready to stab me. “Brock,” A voice spoke, stopping him in his steps. It was his so-called partner in crime Dave. I was already hating both of them for playing me and k********g me. “I was just on the phone with Mr. Von Blaze,” he spoke gaining Brock`s attention as he forgot about his anger at me. “Oh, what did the boss man say, are we getting promoted for this,” Brock asked with a hopeful look, “Yes, he said for catching a Royal Vampire, we will be rewarded once we come back to the organization,” Dave replied with an elated look, To think my life was only worth a promotion to them,  “And what are the orders when it comes to it,” Brock also asked, Although I felt offended at being called an ‘it’, I also felt like stopping to breathe as I waited to hear my fate. “He said we wait here until daybreak. When the sun is out, we take off her sun ring and have the bloodsucker burn.” As Dave said that with a glee filled tone, my eyes instead widened in fear.  I should have known, what else had I expected from a Von Blaze. Their hatred for us ran too deep.  Death by the sun was the most excruciating and unmerciful death for a Vampire. Feeling your body burn from the inside out. “After its dead, we are to collect and have its ashes delivered to the brother,  just like we once did their mother`s ones.” Dave finished making me remember that horrible day. The reason why my brother was risking everything to fight the Vampire hunters and get revenge. Tears threatened my eyes as I remembered the look on Jake`s face when one of our mothers’ surviving Vampire guards had arrived with her burnt up ashes. Plus a cruel note attached from Von Blaze boasting about the gruesome details of her death.  Leaving Jake to scream in devastation vowing that he would get them back. And now because of me, it would happen again. I was less afraid of my incoming death but more of my brother`s reaction. It would break him again. “I cannot wait for the b***h to burn,” Brock`s voice brought me out of my thoughts, he seemed very excited to see me burn soon. “Lets go get some food, I’m famished,” Dave suddenly said after a while of them just sitting there and watching me. Boring me with their boastful stories of the other Vampires they had previously hunted and ruthlessly killed. They confidently left knowing that I would not be able to escape my restraints on my own. Still, I tried, struggling against the chains but nothing worked. A frustrated sigh escaped my lips as I looked upwards seeing that the sun was soon going to be up. And my sun ring would be taken away for my gruesome death. I first cast my eyes downwards but lifted them as I heard a small sound. “What the- “I spoke staring in unbelief at this red gem which was floating in the air and coming my way. “Ruby,” A little voice then spoke coming from it and startling me, “Yes, that’s my name,” I responded not knowing if it was telling me that it was a Ruby gem or saying my name. It seemed to glow brighter and brighter red as it neared me. I leaned my head backwards as it neared my face, afraid of what it could do if it touched me. “I have been looking for you, for months! Finally, I have found you!” The voice turned to excitement. “Mom…is this you,” I asked wondering if it was her ghost form, possessing this Ruby gem to haunt me.  What else was I supposed to think? The thing was floating in the air and talking as if it knew who I was. “No, I am not your mother. My name is Emma, sorry for not introducing myself,” The voice replied “What are you,” I managed to ask in a small voice with a scared and cautious look still on my face and it finally revealed who it was as the gem was moved away. I blinked my eyes rapidly now staring at this bright light. But as I moved my head as close as I could, I was able to see a little person with beautiful white wings fluttering. “You are a…a…a…Fairy,” I managed to speak with my voice stuttering in unbelief. “Maybe I am hallucinating,” I could not help but think to myself. Those two evil vampire hunters must have also added something else to my drink too. “Yes, I am a Fairy, a light fairy to be exact. And I need you to come with ME!” she said now with urgency. “Ah well…I am unable to go anywhere at the moment,” I replied motioning to how I was obviously bound to a tree in chains. “Ohh, I can fix that!” Emma replied excitedly then she threw this gold glittering dust which looked like fairy dust, at me. As soon as it touched the chains, I stared with more wide eyes as the chains awoke and unbound themselves around me until I was free. Then dropped to the ground lifelessly again. “uh thanks,” I said while moving away from the tree with a relieved expression at being able to escape. “Come lets go,” Emma continued flying away and wanting me to follow. But as I contemplated whether to go with her, my slow heart spiked a little bit as I heard the voices of both Brock and Dave coming back. Not wasting time, I quickly started running after that fairy. I did not want to end up in the clutches of those damn Vampire hunters again!  I had learned my lesson, I would stay with my guards from now on.   Damn, I was even wishing Simo was here too! My wonderful head guard whom I had not been appreciating this whole time. I owed them all apologies. “Where is she! How did she even escape???” I heard Dave`s angry shout as they arrived to see me gone. “Boss is so going to kill us!” I had Brock`s voice add in a panic. “Lets go get her, she can’t be far. I see her footprints,” Dave replied causing my own panic to increase. I had been leaving footprints! Increasing my pace, I ran as fast as I could, hearing their own footsteps as they pursued me un-relentlessly. And to make it worse, I seemed to have lost sight of that fairy too. I could feel myself getting tired but still, I continued running.  I was running for my life, getting breathless with each distance and also trying to avoid the trees and stones of this forest which made it harder to run. “We are close, these prints are fresh,” Dave`s voice echoed and I found myself reaching a dead end. I swore inwardly at the hill blocking my way and it looked difficult to climb. “Over here,” I looked with relief at Emma the little fairy as she appeared and called out for me. Following her, she led me away from Dave and Brock who were getting closer and right in to some little hidden cave. I had to slide into the small entrance while lying on the ground with my stomach and force myself in. Whereas Emma with her small form just easily flew in. Once inside, the space of the cave luckily became bigger enough for me to stand up. “Thanks again,” I said to her while standing up and dusting myself of the dust. While looking around, I spotted a lake of water nearby in the cave causing me to walk to it.  Something was abnormal about the water though. It glittered giving it that magical look, making me hesitate to drink it. Even though I was a bit thirsty for both blood and water. “I don’t deserve your thanks for what I am about to do,” Emma instead replied cryptically, And before I could ask as to what she meant by that; she threw her fairy dust at me. As soon as she did, I felt myself being pushed until I was falling right into that abnormal-looking water. “Goodluck Ruby,” The last words I heard coming from her as my body splashed and I was sucked right into a hidden swirling vortex.  Every particle of my body was now fading away as I screamed helplessly until I was no more.
