Nine: A dance and a kiss

His hands balled into fist striking the bag harder and harder each time but it wasn’t enough he needed to make someone bleed he needed to hurt someone… hurt himself. Half way through he swapped out the punching bag for the solid brink wall watching as red smeared the white painted gym wall. Each strike against the solid wall sent pain running up from his knuckles to his elbow. This was good. It felt good. A pain that he knew he could control, the physical pain was better than the mental pain. Greyson needed the pain and violence to breath, to feel like he was normal. He loved being a werewolf and all the perks it came with but there was always ten penalties for one gift. He was sure he broke his hand but it didn’t stop him. Harder he punched as the screams filled his head, harder he punched when the pleas became to much, harder he punched as he thought of Mia waiting at home for him as he stood her up all by his f*****g fathers demands. Harder and harder he hit the wall until his breathing was laboured and the noise was gone. Only the smack of his broken fist hitting the wall filled the silence. ‘Stop! Greyson stop it!’ There it was again that noise. ‘Greyson!’ It was a plea filled with panic and concern, concern he didn’t deserve. SHUT UP! He wanted to scream at the top of his lungs wanted to yell out for help but the only person who he wanted help from was not able to help herself let alone him. ‘Jesus Grey stop!’ Hands stopped him mid punch just before his hand could connect one last time with the wall. He was going to kill whoever grabbed him like this. ‘f**k! You f*****g i***t! Look at your hands’ Ryan shoved Greyson’s hand up into his face and Greyson recoiled. ‘Get off me’ he sounded exhausted. ‘What the hell are you doing?’ Ryan ran a hand through his hair panic sewn on his face, Greyson hated that he was the one to make his best friend look like that. ‘f**k, I’ll get Kyle. He can look at your hands’. ‘No’ he plonked down on the stack of mats. ‘I don’t need his help and I don’t need yours’s’ ‘Well you need someone’s!’ Ryan snapped ‘What happened? I thought you were doing good.’ He to sat down next to Greyson examining his hands with his eyes. ‘I’m going to punch you if you look keep looking at me like that.’ Greyson’s threat was real he would happily rearrange his best friends pretty face even as his hands throbbed with pain he still felt the need to hit something or someone. ‘What the f**k! I’m trying to help you… ungrateful asshole. Now tell me what is wrong.’ ‘Everything!’ Greyson was good at bottling this up but whenever his annoying best friend was around he would keep bugging him until he spoke or until Greyson knocked up unconscious. ‘I’m being forced to stay behind in year ten while all of you go into year eleven and sixth form, dad sent me away to try and fix me, or at least find out what is wrong with me. Still don’t know by the way. Then there is…’ He halted as his mum stepped into the gym dressed in her stunning silver dress ready for the charity ball. ‘Why aren’t you dressed?’ no room for argument. Luna Rosette halted looking at her sons sweaty gym clothes. ‘You look amazing mum.’ Greyson said while Ryan gaped at Rosette. ‘Why is your mum so hot.’ That comment earned Ryan a punch in the gut from Greyson. ‘Greyson!’ Rose scolded making her way over to a doubled over Ryan. ‘Are you okay?’ ‘No, I think you should kiss it better, he punched my dick.’ Ryan wheezed out pleading in his eyes. ‘I punched your stomach asshat not your dick.’ Greyson argued but was shushed by Ryan who then turned back to rose pleading again. ‘Ryan your mother and I were pregnant at the same time, I changed your nappies.’ ‘Oh perfect then, you are already familiar with my equipment.’ He smirked Greyson was discussed and by the look on his mothers face he could not decipher if she too was discussed or amused. ‘I’m joking’ he said before Greyson could land another punch. ‘Kind of’ was the last thing he said before bolting out the room. ‘talk later Grey.’ ‘Why aren’t you dressed?’ ‘I’m not going’ he sat himself back down. ‘She’s going to hate me.’ It was a bad idea for him to have even told her they would go together. The buzzing returned and fogged his head drawing out his claws he sliced his palms with them. Pain. Pain. Pain. ‘Who?’ He already knew his mum was aware of his mate she too was unsure weather he was safe enough to be around such a delicate thing. ‘Your dad told you to stay away from that girl.’ Softly spoken were her harsh words that shredded him. With a small smile she took hold of his cut up hands and helped him up. ‘What do you feel for this… human girl Greyson?’ ‘I don’t know, I just, I can’t look away from her when she is in the room, can’t concentrate on anything when I so much as get a whiff of her, I want to keep her safe and part of me know that to do that I need to stay away from her but the other part want’s to take her and lock her in a tower where nothing can ever get to her. I haven’t known her long but I’m scared to lose her.’ He took a steadying breath. ‘I don’t like feeling scared, her smile calms me, it calms him. And her laugh, I feel like she is what is keeping me sane. How can dad ask me to stay away from my own mate?’ Greyson wasn’t one to speak his feeling much but he knew whatever he said was safe with his mother. ‘Put your suite on and take the car to pick her up. I will handle your father.’ ****** Greyson’s POV Stood there angary and beautiful awaiting her answer was Mia. My beautiful Mia. ‘I’m sorry.’ It was a s**t apology both of us knew it. ‘forty-five minutes.’ She stepped away when I reached for her. About to speak again she cut me off with a confidence I hadn’t seen in her before. ‘I’m not playing games Greyson.’ It caught me off guard how assertive she was. ‘my feeling are not something to be toyed with.’ Seeing her shoes on the floor I bent down picking them up crouching down in front of her. With a sigh I took her foot and placed the high heal on her foot buckling it up. ‘I’m not playing games.’ I hadn’t intended for it to come across that way I was just trying to keep everyone happy and safe. Once I put her other shoe on her foot I moved my hand up her leg no further than the back of her knee and rubbed her smooth skin with my thumb. ‘I promise.’ She still looked pissed. ‘Besides if I was playing a game you would have just won because I’m already on my knees for you’ she scoffed and moved away more angary than before. It was strange how the person my flirts and charms were meant to work the best on only seamed to anger her. I griped her hand before she could disappear into the kitchen. ‘Sorry bad joke.’ I had never really had to try hard with girls there had been a few times where they had wanted me to go the extra mile before climbing into bed with them but this… this was new. ‘You’re not funny Greyson.’ I saw the amusement in her eyes twinkling she was trying not to either blush or laugh at my joke. ‘I shouldn’t have been late, I was in the gym and lost track of time, it won’t happen next time.’ ‘Who says I’m giving you a next time?’ She really was mad I moved close to her so our chest were almost touching faces only a few centimetres away from each other. ‘I like this assertiveness and confidence you are showing, even if it does piss me off. it’s hot.’ Desperate to feel more of her against me I walk her back to the kitchen island. I brush my lips against hers and when she doesn’t move away I hug her closer to me. I had Mia all alone in an empty house the bond pulling us both closer. My ears were tuned to her heart beat as it increased I’m aching to kiss her desperate to taste her lips again. ‘Cars waiting outside’ I shouldn’t push it right now. I pulled her to the car where the driver opened our door after greeting us. Mia kept space between us in the back of the car but she didn’t let go of my hand and clench it tighter when we arrived. It was a stunning event ladies dressed in lavish gowns men in perfectly tailored suites. Soft classic music played outside but once we entered the main event it was louder and faster perfect music to dance to yet no one was. the rich only gossiped and placed money down at these events. I never want to grow up if I have to attend these kind of things on a weekly basis. The chatter and clinking of champagne glasses halted for a split second as I entered with Mia on my arm. I hadn’t been to one of these fancy balls since before I left ad everyone in this room know the most popular story of why I left. I know I should give a s**t but having everyone staring at you like the monster you are isn’t a comfortable feeling. ‘Everyone is looking at us.’ Mia whispered in in ear and dam if it didn’t send shivers through my body and tingles down my back. ‘I know. I’m not exactly the most welcome guest. If it wasn’t for who my parents are and the power I will inherit I wouldn’t have even been invited.’ ‘Oh’ ‘I need a f*****g drink.’ ‘uh Greyson that’s no-’ ‘Shut up.’ I pulled on her hand leading her over to the bar. ‘gin, on the rocks’ I looked at Mia, she sure as s**t was drinking. ‘And a water please.’ ‘You will get in trouble if you get caught.’ Mia bit her lip looking around as the bar tender handed me my drink. ‘shouldn’t he be asking to see some ID.’ ‘He knows how old I am.’ Since it seems like she doesn’t know I’m not telling her, not yet anyway. I threw my drink back asking for another and did the same with the next four drinks all while Keeping Mia close to me. Her wide eyes wondered around the hall of busy rich people then back to me. ‘Um’ She judging me right now I can feel it. This is not how I imagined our night starting. ‘Don’t.’ I didn’t need to hear whatever it was, my dad was here and I could feel his waves of anger circulating me. He told me to stay away from Mia yet I didn’t. if I was to face him I needed alcohol. ‘Are you okay?’ ‘No. want to dance?’ again I was an asshole to her yet she still smiled at me and nodded her head. ‘No one else is dancing.’ I observed the hall and no one was dancing all just talking or pulling out there check books. ‘Everyone is looking at us might as well give them something to look at right.’ I twirled her around before pulling her petite bodies to mine in the middle of the room. Her smile lit the entire room and her light laughter eased the feeling in my chest. Her body pressed against mine one hand in mine and the other around my neck, of course she knew how to dance. Waltzing around eyes on each other had made everything around us disappear all that was here was me Mia and the music. She giggled as she looked down at my feet which somehow hadn’t managed to tread on her yet, me and Ryan had gone to a few ballroom dance classes as kids our mums though it would cute to see us at the age of five in tuxedos. Mia was defiantly better at this than me she knew it too. Smiling from ear to ear she pulled away and spun around and pulled us back together. Anyone with a pair of eyes could see how much she was enjoying dancing. When the tempo of the music changed and increased we sped up our dance making our way around the centre circle on the floor underneath the stupidly sparkly chandelier. ‘You’re a good dancer.’ She breathed as I dipped her keeping our faces close. I saw my father standing with my mother his piercing gaze told me how much s**t I am in when I got home tonight. Going against my father was the one thing he would not tolerate in his pack. Looking towards my mother I saw she too was in a sour mood which could only mean my father had said no to her, which now meant she was going to sulk around the house for god knows how long. My dad never ever said no to my mum only if it was something that was going to endanger her or if he was really, really against it. ‘Mum forced me as a kid.’ ‘Aww’ she cooed and I looked back into her eyes and all thought of what I was to face when I got home didn’t matter when I was with her. Had her in my arms. ‘Shut up’ She laughed. f**k I wanted to make her laugh again. ‘Is there pictures?’ ‘No’ yes, too f*****g many if you ask me. ‘It appears we have started something.’ Indeed we had other couples had joined us on the dance floor. I pulled her back up one of my hands now on her face and the other lower on her back. I watched as he breathing became unsteady and her lips parted, we had stopped dancing now just stood in the centre in everyone’s way. Mia slid her hand up my shoulders till they were around my neck. Her fingers were cold a chill I welcomed as her finger played with the hair on the back of my head. I don’t even think she is aware of what she was doing or how it was affecting me. You could not cut the tension between us with a knife. Her plump parted lips had my name written all over them. Mia was almost screaming at me to kiss her. I needed to kiss her. ‘Come with me’ This was a big place filled with lots of corners, rooms and hidden cupboards. ‘Where are we going?’ I sped out of that ballroom as fast as I could holding her hand tight enough so she couldn’t slip away. I am okay with an audience but I don’t think Mia would be. ‘Somewhere quite.’ I lead her down corridors and around corners until we reached the hotel floor filled with empty rooms. ‘Why, ah Greyson’ she laughed as I pulled her into one of the unlocked the rooms and pressed her against the door and smashed my lips onto her. She gasped as her back hit the door and I shoved my tongue into her mouth. Mia tasted so sweet and I wanted more. My wolf demanded I have more of her I wanted to see how strong the bond affected her. Considering mates usually have s*x the first night or two of finding one another. I wasn’t going to push any boundaries so I let her set the speed. It seems it was set when she tugged at the collar of my jacket pulling me closer. She wanted more. My hands fisted and bunched the skirt of her dress trying to find her legs under all of the layers of fabric. I wanted her legs wrapped around me. The feeling of her pressed against me was euphoric It was almost impossible to think of anything other than her having her right now. Mia was driving me mad as she rid me of my jacket and moaned into my mouth. Biting her lips I pulled a way and tugged on it. ‘Mia’ I gritted out, I was definitely sporting a semi right now. we needed to stop. ‘Greyson’ Mia pulled me back, she seemed to be in a trance only focusing on me, that’s when I knew the bond had snapped into place for her as well. She had no idea what any of it meant why she felt this pull toward me and why she felt the sudden urge to remove both our clothes so I pulled away from our kiss and stepped back. She was panting hard, her lips red and swollen. ‘I just wanted a little kiss but dam.’ ‘oh my god.’ She hid her face when she looked at my jacket on the floor and undone top button. ‘I’m so sorry.’ ‘For what? By all means, please continue, but at least let me take you out on a date first.’ Mia didn’t find my joke funny. ‘I’m so sorry, I’m not like this. I swear it just… you. You make my head all funny and…’ ‘I know I feel the same'. I put my jacket around her and took her for a walk outside. Fresh air would be good… for both of us.
