Chapter 11

1587 Words

"I'm sorry, Gwen, but you are not allowed to pass." I stared in disbelief at the two guards that blocked the pathway to the gate that led to the exit of the bayou. I hadn't gotten a goddamn break throughout the previous day as I had been burdened with schedules. What had followed next added to the mental turmoil that was happening in my mind. That annoying nightmare was back. This time it was even darker than the previous ones and as usual it ended the same way. The demise of the little boy and his parents. I needed a reprieve. Christine would not be of any help and her grandfather might try to get into my head. If that happened, I would risk revealing my involvement with the rogue. I decided a little walk would not hurt. Unfortunately, the security guards did not seem to share my view.
