“Thanks but I'm good," I said, shoving him back to put distance between us. “It wasn't a choice," he replied, exasperation evident in his slick tone. What surprised me was the looks of astonishment written over everyone's faces at my blunt refusal. Clearly Abel was a man who wasn't questioned often. “Like I told you before, I don't take orders from you. I'm not a part of your pack," I spat, standing my ground.
