The morning after the birthday party, Charlotte, along with Isabel, Penelope, Aunt Beverly, and Lady Adina all attended Sunday services at the tiny church in the village as was Lady Adina's habit. The four extra ladies in the church nearly doubled the number of worshippers already there. Charlotte counted a total of nine people in the six pews, and she knew then, they weren't in London anymore.
Noticeably absent, aside from the earl and his friends, were Lady Edgar and Miss Olivia, and Marcus.
"The rain," said Lady Adina while they rode in the enclosed carriage back to the castle after the service, "is supposed to continue, tapering off as the day goes, and my steward tells me all should be well for tomorrow's hunt."
