Otis's POV
It was as if my whole body was frozen.
Conrad's words made me feel suffocated.
I looked at his disgusted expression and he looked like he had seen a nasty fly.
How could this happen? I cleaned myself. There was no place on my body that was dirty, but why was he still disgusted with me like that?
I saw his eyes dazzling because of me. I couldn't understand.
The flower that was blooming inside my heart withered.
"Otis, let's go back. I think you must be exhausted today and need to get some rest." Mrs. Wynna urged me to go back to my room, and I followed her out of there in silence.
Soon I was back in my room and I lay down on the big comfortable bed I had never laid on in the past eight years and looked at the chandelier on the ceiling. But I couldn't sleep.
I was able to fall asleep in such a harsh environment, but now in such a comfortable environment, I can not sleep.
My head is very confused. The words that Conrad told me to leave echoed over and over again.
Why does he still hate me like that? Is it because I'm not pretty enough or sexy enough? Or was it because I wasn't strong enough?
I tossed and turned in bed with my pillow. I don't know how long it took, but it seemed like a century before I finally fell asleep.
When I opened my eyes again, it was already morning.
Because I had been a slave in Grey Pack for eight years, and if I didn't get up on time, I would be beaten by those brutal guys, I habitually got up very early.
Bang.
Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door and outside was a tall man with a big body, but I didn't know this guy.
"Are you Otis?" The man looked at me curiously, "Alpha is looking for you. Could you come with me to see him now?"
"Sure."
I brushed my hair and did some simple cleaning before heading to Conrad's room with the man. On the way to Conrad's room, he introduced himself to me briefly, saying his name was Marsh and he was Conrad's Beta.
Marsh is a warm and cheerful man. He was very friendly to me, and I was very happy about that because he was the second person after Wynna to be so friendly to me. His attitude soothed my heart which was hurt by Conrad's words yesterday, but that comfort was soon broken by Conrad.
"Slave. I'm going to feed my pets a little food today. You stay with me."
Is Conrad taking me to see his pet?
Yesterday, Mrs. Wynna told me that Conrad liked to have pets, but she didn't tell me what Conrad's pets looked like or what they were.
I was confused, but Conrad's voice was so full of unquestionable power that I couldn't refuse. I followed his footsteps toward the backyard. His back was strong and wide, like a small mountain, so it was easy to take up my full view when he was beside me.
He was just so strong and handsome.
I stared blankly at his back. But just as I was getting closer to the backyard, a beast's hiss suddenly sounded and startled me. The sound was so full of power and ferocity that it almost made my soul feel trembling.
What was that sound? Was it Conrad's pet?
I followed Conrad completely into the backyard. A huge iron cage was placed inside the backyard, and iron pillars as thick as thighs surrounded a huge beast inside.
Oh my god! A tiger! Conrad kept a huge tiger!
The tiger was almost 10 feet long. He stared fiercely at the people outside the cage, and his huge teeth came out from inside his mouth, looking like he had been hungry for a long time.
"Bring up that food."
Conrad ordered calmly. The next moment, the group of rogues caught by the Blue-moon Pack's warriors was brought up.
"No! No! Please! Please have mercy on me! Don't throw me in! You can make me do anything you want as long as you don't throw me in there! Please don't make me face that tiger!"
"I didn't know you were a Blue-moon Pack team. If I had known, we would never have come to rob you! Please let me go! I swear to the Moon Goddess that I will never make that mistake again!"
The captives screamed and begged for mercy, crying. There was even a strange smell emanating from one of them. I knew this rogue was so scared that he was incontinent.
But their begging was obviously useless. Conrad's face did not change one iota, even with a sneer.
The next moment, the door above the cage was opened, and two Blue-moon Pack warriors threw a captive straight in!
"No! Please don't!"
The captive screamed loudly and miserably, but the tiger would not show the slightest mercy to him. He was tackled to the ground by the tiger, whose huge teeth sank right through his throat. He tried desperately to resist, but he was no match for the tiger!
The blood soon formed into a bright red puddle on the ground.
The tiger tore the upper half of the captive's body apart after biting through his throat. The captive's entrails were chewed by the tiger, and the white bones were torn apart and discarded one by one.
Oh no! This is so cruel and sick and disgusting!
I felt weak in my legs, my body was shaking slightly, and I wanted to turn around and leave.
"Otis, stop! You have to watch it! Can't you even take this kind of scene? Cowardly punk."
Conrad's accusation rang out, and he fixed me with a stern look, a strong arm grabbing my shoulder, forcing me to turn my head and look at the cage.
There was nothing I could do to resist him.
I held back my fear and continued to look into the cage. The first captive had been torn to pieces by the tiger, and his entrails and bones were scattered all over the floor. Only one head was lying there, with dead eyes, as if the tiger was not very interested in the hard-to-grasp head.
This time the second captive was thrown in again, and he struggled as hard as the first, but still could not escape the tiger's huge teeth.
The sound of ripping flesh and blood echoed in my ears. The captive's intact body was once again turned into pieces.
As each captive died in a scream, the entire cage had turned blood red, like a pool of bloody hell.
No! This is too cruel!
I looked at the scarlet ground, and the memories of eight years ago gradually reappeared inside my mind.
Scattered limbs and internal organs, white bone fragments. The father and mother were struggling desperately, and the mother's eyes.
No!
My body trembled. The fear of those days was rooted in my heart as if a large, dark hand was dragging me into the abyss.
"Otis. This is what happens when you run away and resist! It's a judgment for the weak and the waste!"
Conrad's stern voice rang out. I saw the look of disgust in his eyes.
For me.
Conrad's POV
I took Otis to see my pet early this morning. I wanted to show this cowardly woman what true strength is.
After the first captive was torn to pieces, I saw Otis take two steps back.
She seemed terrified of the scene, but it was only just beginning. Did she retreat so quickly? Can't she even take this? Her performance was awful. Not only her physical strength, but even her mental strength is so weak.
I'm annoyed by that.
"Otis, stop! You have to watch it! Can't you even take this kind of scene? Cowardly punk." I scolded her, grabbing her shoulders with one hand.
Cruelty and bloodshed are sure ways to make a person stronger. I had to get this weak woman used to it.
I could feel Otis' body tremble more and more violently in my hands as one captive after another was turned into pieces by the tiger's bite.
I cringed.
She was too timid, too timid to be tolerated.
Conrad! Otis is your mate! How could you do this to her?
Carl hissed in my gut, distracting me.
She couldn't stay under my protection forever, so she had to become strong! The only person who can protect her is herself! My partner must be powerful! If she can't do that, she will only become a stumbling block and a burden in my way. And in the face of all these things that stand in my way, I will remove them all, just like those enemies that I have torn apart!
My wolf compromised. He stopped growling. And I tightened my grip on Otis, letting her watch as the captives were torn apart one by one in front of her.
Otis was trembling and her face was as pale as white paper.
I was annoyed by her performance.
This cowardly woman made me feel confused! Although her body, face, and breath fascinated me, I couldn't help but feel disgusted with her inside. My instinct was to love and care for her because she was my mate, but my reason was to dislike her and stay away from her because she was too fragile a woman.
I was troubled by my contradictions.
Why doesn't she show a little more courage? Who in our Pack has never seen a scene like this? Just watching a bloody scene made her look like that, she had such a weak mental quality, and what is the difference between her and a waste?
In the Blue-moon Pack, any slave would have more courage than her.
"Wynna, take her away! Don't let her stay in front of my eyes."
