Watching the Alpha refuse my hand felt like a jab to the heart. I had only just met him, but for some reason, it hurt my feelings more than I cared to admit that he just walked away from me without acknowledging me.
Donovan looks mad as well that the Alpha acted that way, but I'll just have to get over it. He's allowing me to come back after being gone for sixteen years. I guess I should be grateful.
Donovan turned and gave me a little smile, embarrassed at how his Alpha had just acted. "Let me show you to our floor."
He picked up my bags and went inside towards the stairs. I followed him to the second floor where there was only one large door along the balcony walkway. At the end of the walkway was another flight of stairs, I assume leading to the Alpha floor.
As we approached the door, he opened it to a large living area with a kitchen to one side. "Welcome home. Over there is my room, you'll be over here." he said as we went to the opposite side of the living area from his room.
"What's in that room?" I pointed to the door next to the one he was walking towards. "It's another spare room. The Beta floor is ment for the Beta and his family. So one day, when I have a family of my own, these will be the kids' rooms. Each room has its own en suite, so no sharing a bathroom either."
Wow. My own room and bathroom. This is the most space I have ever had in the last sixteen years. I've always had a shared bedroom, sometimes with more than one other person, and had to fight for time in the bathroom. But this layout was interesting.
The Beta floor is like his own home, just on the second floor of the pack house. The Alpha floor must be set up the same way.
Why was I thinking about the Alpha floor? It's not like I'll ever go up there.
"Thank you, Donovan. For everything." He smiled at me. A genuine smile said that he was happy I was here. I haven't felt like I belonged anywhere in a very long time, but I'm finally starting to feel like I belong here the more I'm around Donovan.
"I'll let you get settled and check on you a little later. I'll send someone up with some food. We missed dinner, but I'm sure the kitchen staff will have something for us." He turned and walked out. Closing my bedroom door behind him.
I heard our front door close not long after, so I decided to take a nice hot shower as I waited for dinner to be brought up.
Letting the hot water run over my body, I couldn't stop thinking about the Alpha. Why didn't I remember him from my childhood? Thinking of when I first saw Donovan, he was familiar, and I finally remembered him, but it wasn't until I touched him that the memories came back to me. Maybe I need to touch the Alpha to remember?
As I thought about the Alpha touching me, I couldn't help the growing pressure between my legs. It's like that one night on the beach awakened the s****l being in me. I needed a release.
I couldn't help but run my fingers softly down my stomach, sending goosebumps all over my skin. I imagined the Alpha's face and his hands running down my body to my soaking wet folds. I began to massage my swollen bud, thinking of the Alpha. It didn't take long for me to explode, full force. My legs almost giving out from under me.
Finally calming my body down, I climbed out of the shower and put on my pajamas. Walking out of my room to the kitchen, I heard a knock on the front door before it opened. A pretty she-wolf in a maid's outfit walked in and placed a tray of food on the dining table.
Bowing slightly towards me, "Your diner ma'am. Is there anything else I can get for you?" "No, thank you. This looks amazing. And please, call me Zadie." She bowed slightly again and turned to walk out.
I sat and ate the delicious steak, mashed potatoes, and roasted carrots that were on my plate. I hadn't realized how hungry I was until I looked at my plate and noticed I had finished everything. Lucky for me, there was also a slice of cherry pie. I ate that too before finally feeling full.
It was after 10 p.m. now and most of the pack house was quiet, so I decided to leave my dishes on the table and deal with them tomorrow. I didn't want to wake anyone.
I went into my room and sat on the couch that was in front of a large TV and turned on my favorite show. I was just getting comfortable snuggling under a large blanket when I heard a soft knock on my door. "Come in," I called out.
Donovan walked in and sat down next to me on the couch. "Do you have everything you need for tonight?"
"I think I'm all set," I replied to him.
"What's on your mind?" he asked. I didn't reply right away...not sure what I should say. "You can talk to me," he told me. I could feel his sincerity, so I decided to confide in him.
"Did I do something to piss the Alpha off? Maybe I shouldn't have come. He doesn't seem to want me here at all."
"Oh, Zadie, it's not that at all. He's very happy you're here. Do you not remember him from when we were kids?" I looked at him saddened that I didn't and shook my head. "You and Rex were inseparable as kids. You'd always tag along with your brother when we would get together to play. It always made Trey mad, but Rex was always happy about it. The two of you had a special bond and would follow each other everywhere. I hope you are able to remember it one day."
After hearing what Donovan just told me, it confirmed I needed to get the Alpha to touch me. Somehow. To see if my memories will come back like they did when I touched Donovan that first time.
I wanted to remember.
I feel this...... pull towards him and can't get him out of my mind. Maybe we can get back the connection Donovan said we once shared. Even if it is only as friends.
But, by how I can't stop thinking about him, I sure hope it's more....
