2| Hermes The God of Fun
RHEA TAPPED HER FOOT impatiently as she waited for his reply. The God cleared his throat nervously as the woman who stood before him glared daggers into his head. He could hear Hermes snorting in the other room from her previous comment.
Henrik cleared his throat. " Rhea there are things that can't be explained—" he started.
" Then start explaining Henrik—or whatever the hell you call yourself," she snapped. " I don't even know you do I? " she questioned incredulously.
He sighed. " You're right...let me start from the beginning, " he took a deep breath. " I am Apollo..."

She blinked. " What?" Her head was still trying to comprehend whatever was coming out of his mouth.
" I am Ap-"
She shook her head in disbelief. " Gods aren't real," she stated.
He rubbed the back of his head and went to reply but Hermes beat him to it. " Well news flash, sweet cheeks, we definitely are real," he stated as he gestured to himself and Henrik—Apollo.
She sighed and rubbed head, she could feel a headache starting to form on her temple. " This isn't real. This is all just a dream and I'll just wake up soon. Yeah...not real, " she mumbled to herself.
Apollo looked at her sadly." Rhea I would've told you earlier but Zeus—"
" Father would've throw him into the depths of Tartarus if he did," Hermes finished as he casually plopped himself on the couch.
Rhea looked at him with an exasperated look on her face." If Zeus is real—which I'm sure he isn't, what would he even want from me? I'm human! I'm not important. "
" Now darling, I've never heard of a person who wasn't important," Hermes stated as he stared at her with his dark brown eyes. Suddenly a phone rang, interrupting the conversation.
Hermes quickly took a phone out of his pockets. " Sorry, gotta take this," he says into the phone cooly.
" Yo, Hermes the God of Fun here. What can I do for you?-" he then started talking in his native tongue, which Rhea doesn't understand—not like she would want to anyways.
She stares at him curiously. She was amazed at how human he looked. If people didn't know who he was, he'd be ranked as a normal boring person. But then again...this guy was far from normal. He was a Greek God! It's not everyday you can say that in your inner monologues.
"- Phoebe for the last time I'm not telling Hades you want to 'ride his boat'. And tell Diana to stop sending Eros love notes, he may be the God of love and s****l desire but that doesn't mean you gotta send him a billion love notes that say they want to bed him. The next note she sends will go up her damn vagin-"
Apollo coughed awkwardly, stopping him from finishing the sentence.
Hermes cleared his throat. "- call you back. I've got more important business to attend to," he ended the call and smiled warmly at Rhea.
" Now...where were we? Ah yes, you're important. Very important actually now that I think about it," he continued as if nothing had happened and they just didn't listen to his conversation with women who would like to bed the God of the Underworld.
Rhea shook her head as soon as she got back to her senses. " But why? I'm a nobody, I'm just a doctor in Louisiana who has the most human and boring friends."
Apollo cleared his throat and looked away. Rhea ignored him. " What makes me so special?" she asked.
Hermes stayed silent, not knowing how to answer her.
" Answer me!" she snapped.
Hermes sighed. " I'm not the right person to tell you, love. "
" Then who is?"
Hermes looked at Apollo. The sun God nodded and faced his friend. " Please don't hate me for this, but it's best for the Oracle to tell you instead of us," Apollo stated with a hint of regret in his tone.
Rhea looked at him confusedly. " What are you talking ab-"
Apollo placed two fingers on her forehead, making her unconscious. He caught her before she could drop to the floor. Hermes chuckled at the situation and Apollo snapped his head back at him in annoyance.
" What's so funny?"
" She'd fit him perfectly!"

RHEA OPENED HER eyes groggily. She blinked rapidly as she readjusted her vision to get used to the brightness of the room. Her limbs felt like they were gonna rip off from how heavy they felt. Her head hurt and her throat was so dry it felt like sand paper. She felt like dying.
" You're awake. "
Rhea jumped in surprise, only to groan in pain. The person walked towards her and held out a cup of gold-like liquid.
" Here drink this, it'll help with the pain," the woman said.
" W-What is that?" she stuttered, still out of it.
The woman smiled. " Just some medicine to ease the pain. Trust me," the woman said, handing her the chalice. The woman had beautiful blue eyes that resembled the vast ocean and long black hair that reminded her of ravens. The woman looked young but her eyes told her a different story, it showed wisdom and understanding—a woman as young as her couldn't possibly achieve.
She hesitantly took it and stared at the mesmerizing gold-like liquid. She slowly placed the tip of the chalice towards her dry lips. The moment she drank the strange drink, her tongue felt like it was in Heaven. It didn't taste like any of the food she has eaten before.
The pain that consumed her body vanished as soon as the drink flowed within her veins. The pain in her head was gone and she felt refreshed, she wanted more...it felt like she needed, which was why she lifted the chalice to take another gulp but the woman stopped her.
" There are good things about ambrosia and there are bad things, the bad thing about it is that it would instantly kill you if you drank too much, " she warned.
Rhea's eyes widened in fear as she quickly handed the cup back to her. Her eyes then darted around the room and gasped in awe at the design. Surrounding her were cream colored walls adorned with a big crystal chandelier hung in the middle of the ceiling. She was lying on on a queen sized bed, the mattress felt like she was floating on a cloud and all in all, the room seemed too good to be true.
" Am I dead?" she thought out loud as she looked at her surroundings.
The woman chuckled. " No dear, you are far from dead. You are in Olympus."
She snapped her head at the strange woman. " Pardon?"
" You are in Olympus dear. "
Her face paled. Memories from earlier came flashing back into her head like a bullet whizzing through the air.
Henrik...Hermes...Zeus...they were real.
" H-How?" she asked dumbfounded, she placed her hand over her forehead as she tried to understand what was going on.
The woman looked at her strangely. " Didn't Apollo tell you all about us? "
Her mind clicked when she mentioned Apollo. Her blood boiled at the thought of him. " H-He knocked me out...I remember he placed two fingers on my forehead and everything turned black," she mumbled before sputtering out, " That asshole!"
The woman sighed. " Always count on Apollo to knock someone out..." she muttered to herself in slight amusement.
Rhea shook her head with a sigh " Anyways...What am I doing here? Who are you?"
The woman pursed her lips. " I am not the right person to tell you..."
Rhea sighed in frustration but managed not to snap at the woman. " At least tell me who you are. "
The woman hesitated before smiling kindly.
" I am Athena."
