ARIEL
"Ariel Williams."
The spokesman called out my name as I walked on the stage and I took my diploma. Finally, I've graduated from my Biology course. I sat back down in the audience with the rest of my classmates and then Sarah, my best friend, hugs me tightly.
"Finally! we've got our degree and now we can get our dream jobs!" She spoke in an excited tone.
"I know, I can't wait to start my career. I've always wanted to become a Marine biologist like my father."
I spoke in a happy tone since I've always wanted to become a Marine biologist just like my father and my grandfather and I've always had a passion for taking care of animals since I started working part-time in animal shelters and pet stores for a while before going to university. After the ceremony, we got outside and we were with our families. I hugged my father tightly and he said to me.
"Oh honey, I'm so proud of you."
"Thank you, Dad," I told him before he released from me the bear hug.
"In fact, I'm so proud that I'm going on another trip to the Caribbean island to do another research on the fish and the plant life and this time, I want you to come with me."
"What?!"
"Call it my graduation present?"
I grinned like a little kid again and I hugged my father tightly again.
"Yes! oh, thank you! thank you! thank you!"
"*Chuckle* I knew you'd be pleased, anyway, we'll be going in a few weeks. Until then, I want you to brush up your knowledge on the Caribbean ocean and their underwater creatures."
"Yes, sir!" I spoke with a smile on my face.
***
A few weeks later, it was the day my father and I headed to the Caribbean sea. I couldn't wait to get started and I get to spend some time with my father. While the crewmen brought mine's and my father's luggage onto the boat, I hugged my mother and sister, Lisa, before we got on the boat.
"You have fun out there and be careful with the sharks," Lisa teased.
"Ha-ha funny, I'm not falling for that prank again and that stupid theme from Jaws isn't gonna frighten me off."
Lisa giggled when I said this and then my mother hugged me one last time before she said to me.
"Lisa is right you know, Derek, keep a close eye on her and make sure she's not up to her usual tricks to go on adventures on an uninhabited island."
Mom said to my father after releasing me.
"Don't worry, a friend of mine has booked us a hotel to stay at the island and then we'll be on this boat doing our research and going to one of the diving spots."
"Okay but, keep an eye out for the weather. I saw the news there will be a storm approaching in a few days."
"I will come on Ariel."
I nodded my head and then we got on the boat. Dad started the engine and then we waved bye to mom and Lisa as we left the port. I watched the scenery flew by as the boat took us to the Caribbean island. It took a few hours but, we finally made it to the Carribean island. We got off the boat and then we reached the hotel where we were staying.
The hotel we were staying for a few weeks contained a swimming pool and it was next door to the beach. Our room contained twin beds which have white bed sheets with golden edges, the silky curtains were a matching colour, the floor was made out of wood and it was dark brown and shiny. The room also contained a coffee table, a mini-kitchen, and a balcony that showed us Costa Rica's ocean view. Dad and I got to our room and I dumped my stuff into the room and I flopped onto the bed.
"Phew, man, my legs still feel like they're on a boat."
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it and besides, you'll need all the rest you can get, especially since we'll going to our diving spot tomorrow."
"Oh?"
I sat up and then my dad came back with two different maps, one that showed us where the Caribbean islands were and the other showed where we would be diving.
"We'll be staying here at Costa Rica's hotel but, tomorrow when we have bright sunshine, we'll be heading to this diving spot here which is near the mini islands and it was further away from the mainland.
"But, Mom did say there was a storm coming wasn't there? shouldn't we be worried about that?"
"Not to worry, Sam, my satellite man will keep an eye out for the weather back here while me, you and the rest of the crewmen will be at the diving spot. Don't worry, nothing bad is going to happen while we're here."
"If you say so."
"Anyway, shall we head out and do some exploring, we can still have some fun while we're here."
"Can we go swimming?"
"Of course!"
3RD PERSON
Deep below the ocean floor from the Carribean islands, there were mysterious creatures swimming through the ocean. The fish were swimming through the coral reef in groups but, there were also some other mysterious creatures that swam with them. From their dark shadows, they had the body of a man and a woman but a tail of a fish. These creatures were merpeople. Everyone thought they were just folklore but, the people who live on islands heard about them being real. Even tales about the mermaids using their sirens to lure men to their deaths. Among them was Prince Adrien, he sawm through the reef with a proud smile on his face. His long black flowed through the water as he swam through the ocean and he has a dark blue tail that shined in the darkness and during the day it's scales reflected off of the sun.
Adrien sighed a little since he was feeling a bit lonely and his father told him to find a mate soon since he won't be able to rule the seas for much longer. That is until he noticed the ripples in the water from above and he sensed that the humans were playing in the water again except this time, he was able to sense something from the humans. Adrien slowly swam upwards since he was a bit curious about this feeling was sensing until he popped his head above water a little to watch the humans from a distance. He noticed Ariel from a distance who was swimming with her new friends from the Caribbean islands and they were also telling her stories about the ocean.
Adrien was fascinated with this girl and he began to wonder why he felt this mysterious pull towards her. He decided to keep a watchful eye out for this girl and he'll find out way he was attracted to her.
