You’re Mine, I’m Not Yours

Amara perspective A wave of revulsion washes over me as Magnus’ words slice through the air, landing with a sickening thud in Zephyrus’ ears. Does he honestly believe that I’m so effortlessly attainable? “Tsk. She’s being bombarded with disrespect from all sides, and it’s mind-boggling even to consider doing such a thing in a location where our every move is visible to YOU.” Zephyrus retorted, his voice dripping with mockery. He sends him a clear signal that he is genuinely willing to engage in the activity with me, causing me to feel uncomfortable. “You can’t simply f**k every woman you come across, Zephyrus. And why specifically choose her?” Magnus’ voice dripped with disgust as he asked, but I remained ultimately still. I’m swiftly turning my back on them, my eyes burning with a fierce determination, urging the beta to depart with utmost haste. “Why do you even care, Your Majesty—” “Why can’t you vanish from my sight when I’m around? I urgently need to have a conversation, and you must take swift and decisive action to eliminate the individuals I have specifically tasked you with terminating.” Magnus’ words send shivers down my spine, causing every hair on my body to stand on end. He’s an absolute marvel. Mind-blowing. Without hesitation, Zephyrus swiftly obeyed his command. A heavy sigh escapes my lips as the realization sinks - it’s just the two of us now. He bursts into laughter, clearly amused by the idea of being involved with Zephyrus. I swiftly pivoted my body, fixing my gaze upon him. “What on earth are you blabbering about? He’s lending me a hand, graciously offering his assistance.” I exclaimed with conviction. “I was the one who rushed to your aid, Amara, and do I look like I cared about that information?” he retorted, his words spilling out with urgency. He exudes an air of unwavering confidence with every word he speaks. He exudes an unwavering sense of self-assurance, which unfortunately threatens my well-being. “Does it make a difference? I never expected him to be the one to come to my aid, but in that moment of embarrassment and fear, when Selene’s dogs had me trembling, he stepped in to help me.” I sighed, exasperated, my eyes rolling dramatically in their sockets as I eagerly selected my outfit. “Does he take you to this dingy, run-down chamber within the realm? Do you realize that I can purchase for you a stunning collection of lavish, high-end garments?” His nauseating boasts, filled with empty promises he couldn’t even begin to fulfill, churned my stomach—despite the urge to hurl, I bit my tongue and remained silent. He moves nearer, his body pressing against mine, and wraps his arms around me from behind. My heart raced as I swallowed hard, the air thick and ominous. Every fiber of my being screamed that this place was a breeding ground for danger. “Cease this instant, Magnus.” I desperately commanded, my eyes squeezed shut as I fought to pry his hand from my waist. But his grip only grew tighter, imprisoning me further. “Amara,” he whispered urgently, “An overwhelming desperation consumes Selene. Let’s do it again.” “I’ll not stop f*****g you until your pregnancy test is positive.” I swiftly pivoted to meet his gaze, my eyes locking onto his as his hand gently brushed against the delicate surface of my skin. “Once it’s positive, you’ll shed this clingy nature, won’t you?” I inquired, my voice dripping with irritation. He snickered. “You think I’ll still bother you after you give birth to our child? No, Amara. I only need your child.” I don’t know what my reaction should be when he said that. I’m torn between conflicting emotions - on the one hand, a sense of relief washes over me as I realize that I will finally be free from the constant intrusion of others. On the other hand, a tinge of sadness creeps in as I realize their actions towards me are driven solely by their self-interest, albeit with some incidental benefits. “But fret not, Amara. You will continue to reside within the tranquil embrace of this pack—” “What does peace truly entail?” I rudely cut him off mid-sentence. “I can already see those relentless individuals persistently pestering me, and it’s frustrating that you seem powerless to intervene, Magnus!” I burst out with a loud exclamation. I am utterly powerless to resist — although I haven’t conceived yet, I am immersed in stressful situations. “I can already envision the cascade of events that will unfold once I find myself with a child. . .” I let out a heavy sigh, feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders. I reached up and pinched my forehead, trying to alleviate the building tension. Meanwhile, he clenched his jaw tightly, his determination evident as he firmly grasped my waist. “You simply fail to perceive it . . . But I am shielding you like a fortress standing tall against the raging storm.” I shut my eyes tightly as his hand slipped beneath the fabric of my dress. “I urgently need to get change, Magnus—” “I find it unbearable to witness you in the company of another man, and the inexplicable torment it brings me is beyond comprehension...”
