Meeting The Hall Family Again

1610 Words
Getting up from my seat, I move about pacing around the room as I try to keep my emotions in check. If there was anything among his conditions I wasn't expecting, this was it. Getting married on the same day as Prince and his girlfriend? I couldn't imagine doing it. “No." I said shaking my head as I stared at King making him get up. “No? Why? Are you still affected by him or what?” King asked walking up to me pushing me against the wall. Suddenly his presence makes me unable to speak just like before. Whenever he was near me, I suddenly seem to always lose my ability to speak or argue with him. “I will set up some funds for your son. You will also receive money as well. That way you can have enough to be able to sustain yourself after our marriage. I can also do much more if you want." King says staring at me intensely. Mustering up all the remaining energy I have, I push him back away from me so I can escape successfully. Heading towards our son's crib, I pretend to be checking on him while King comes up to me again. “Must you be near me? I'm having a hard time thinking the way I want." I said covering my mouth immediately as I realize I had just overspoken again. “What's there to think about? This deal is a win-win deal for both of us. If there is anything else you want, we can talk about it now. Tomorrow, we have to go and meet my parents to tell them the news.” King said making me sigh again. The next morning, I wake up early thanks to our son's constant crying for food. Even though I knew I wasn't the only one supposed to be going through this alone, I have to no choice but to keep quiet through all of it. Once our son is fed, he falls asleep peacefully again after a few minutes giving me time to be able to bathe and dress up. My body was also starting to change now. I had just given birth so I had to work hard to getting back to my former self. Especially before the wedding. I didn't want to be looking like the second lead at our wedding. “Good morning." I say causally King as I walk past him as if we are roommates. Yes, roommates. That's exactly what we were going to be for the next 3 years. “I can see that you didn't sleep well. Your son kept on crying throughout the night. Are you okay?” King asks as I fix myself some coffee to get me through my day. “ He did wake me up a few times. But I am okay now. All I need is this.” I said pointing to the cup of coffee in my arms as a smile forms on my lips without me knowing. “That's good. In that case, we should talk about something else. Your son's name. What do you want to name your son? We should pick a name before heading out. That way, we won't be left defenseless when they ask." King said making me go silent. He was right. His family was definitely no fool at all considering the fact that they had all studied at famous schools. They would definitely suspect something was off if we haven't named our son yet. Our acting had to be flawless. “You name him.” I said looking at King making him almost choke on his coffee just as he is about to drink it. “I should name him? I can choose a name ” Kingston asks looking at me surprised as I am from another planet. I wasn't. He was the father of my baby even if I didn't want to tell him. The only thing I could do for him right now was to give him the right to name our baby. He deserved it at least. “Wow. I can't believe you're letting me pick a name for your son. How about Shawn?” King asked looking at me for confirmation. “Shawn? Shawn is a good name. Sounds similar to Shawn Mendes. I like it ” I say nodding my head at him before heading upstairs. “Are you sure that will enough for you? You're now breastfeeding. If you want I can tell the nanny to bring you some food later.” King says caringly making me stop. “Thank you." I say with a huge smile before heading up. Few minutes later, I come downstairs all dressed up in a long sleeve short dress. It was the perfect outfit to meet King's family in. Especially since I was already having insecurities about my body. Walking up to King, I spot him already waiting for me in a formal black suit. "Are we all set to go?” I ask him gaining his attention immediately. “The nanny is already waiting for us outside. Are you ready?” King asked me making me inhale deeply before nodding my head. The ride over to his family's house makes me even more nervous than I imagined. I was going to meet his family again for the first time in months and I was also good to meet Princeton. The man I had loved for 10 years. It's funny because I had never gotten along with King while I was dating Princeton. We had always been arguing and fighting each other throughout so we couldn't stand each other in the past. Now we were going to get married. "What is she doing here? King, have you gone mad?" King's mother asked looking at the both of us while King holds my hand. “How am I crazy? I am just marrying the mother of my child. Shouldn't be a big deal.” King said looking at his mother as a huge smile forms on his lips. He was rebellious in nature. Never have I ever seen King be so obedient and polite towards his mother. He wasn't like that at all. “Mother of your child? She is your twin brother's ex girlfriend. How can she be the mother of your child?" King's mother asked scoffing at the both of us in disbelief. Of course she wasn't going to believe us immediately. “We had a one night stand. On the day of our birthday.” King said causally as if it’s not a big deal. “What? Did I just hear you right?" Prince asked making me tense up immediately as I hear his voice. I was hoping I wouldn't have to see him. Being in the same room as him was definitely going to be torture. How was I going to control myself from punching him in the face? Last time we met, I had just ran away crying because I had found out he had cheated on me. I regretted it a lot. I should have at least smashed his face into his cake before leaving. “What is it, dear brother? Did you suddenly get deaf while I was in Italy?” Kingston asks making Prince laugh. "You're lying. You're doing this so that you don't have to marry the woman chosen for you. But seriously, did you have to go and pick my ex? Seems like you like picking up after me a lot." Princeton says with a sly look on his face making me stunned. Getting from my seat, I reach into my bag getting the DNA test I had gotten before. Walking up to Princeton, I open the paper wide before throwing it up at his face. “Picking up after you? Don't flatter yourself. You're not someone that is worth picking up after. Look at him. Shawn Hall is your brother's son. And we are getting married." I said smiling as Prince goes through the DNA test I had thrown at him. “You're not going to allow them do this, right? What will people say about us?” Prince asked looking at his mother who has been silent ever since. Watching her stand up from her seat, I raise my head up high standing my ground. I had suffered a lot in the past becuse of this family while dating Prince in the past. This time, I wasn't going to just sit back and allow them. Even if it was just for a short amount of time, I was going to get my revenge. “How much do you want? Name your price and I will give it to you ” Princeton's mother said making me shake my head. “I'm going to marry your son." I say sternly with determination as I stare at her. She is one tough nut to crack but I was just equally as stubborn. “What are you getting so worked up about? If they want to get married, let them get married.” A voice says making me turn around. Spotting Princeton's grandmother enter the room, I clench my hand hard knowing I was just about to encounter the worst member of the family. Last time I had met her, she had poured a whole bucket of cold water on my body just to punish me. “If she is so adamant about marrying here, let her. But on one condition, the both of you must move in here. This house is big enough for all of us anyway." Princeton's grandmother says making me look at King.
