Chapter 5 - A Dance

703 Words
Eleanor looked into the man’s blue eyes and nodded desperately. She would like to get away before Rickard got a hold of her. They had begun to dance when the man said while looking at her. “What’s your name?” He twirled her around. “I am Eleanor. What’s your name?” She asked back. He smiled, “I am Oliver, and the man you’re seeing at the bar is my brother.” What? Eleanor was confused then glanced at the bar and saw Rickard glaring at her. The small smile on her face vanished as she looked back at Oliver who was grinning. Now that she knew Oliver was Rickard’s brother she noticed the familiar blue eyes and sighed. Was one brother not enough that she was bestowed with another one? Why are they torturing her like that? “I had no idea,” Eleanor said to Oliver. “How do you know him?” Oliver asked hesitantly. Eleanor glanced at Rickard and said, “Oh, he’s my new boss.” Oliver raised his eyebrow and nodded, “That explains why you’re scared of him. Many of his employees are... But he’s a good lover, I have heard.” At Oliver’s mention of Rickard’s skill in bed, Eleanor felt her cheeks heating up. She didn’t need to know about how good a lover her boss was. What did Oliver think of her? “I am sorry?” “If you’re interested in him.” Oliver shrugged. Eleanor quickly shook her head. “You misjudge me. I am not interested in your brother.” She felt herself getting angry. Did they think that just because they had looks that anyone would fall for, Eleanor would be interested in sleeping with Rickard? Her heart jumped in joy at the thought but she cursed herself inwardly and cared for her self-respect. “Yeah, but he appears to be,” Oliver said and glanced in Rickard’s direction. At his statement, Eleanor frowned. He could be right because she had up until then multiple encounters with him, but that could all be a coincidence. And why would he be interested in someone so ordinary like her when he could have any woman around him. Eleanor was sure he was used to getting any woman around him and maybe that’s what he thought of Eleanor as well. But even if there was something like what Oliver said, Eleanor would not easily give in to Rickard’s antics. “I don’t think there could be anything between us besides a boss and employee relationship. Please just drop this.” Eleanor wished he would stop embarrassing her further and drop the topic as she requested and a cherry on the top would be if he would leave her alone along with his brother. “Yeah, sure.” Oliver nodded and they got off from the dance floor. “It was nice meeting you, Oliver. I have to go now. See you in the office, maybe…” Eleanor lifted her eyebrow. “I am a billionaire, I don’t need to work.” Eleanor laughed and nodded. It was a weird notion because Rickard was a billionaire as well, but he worked still. “As for Rickard, he just has to let out his craziness somewhere so the work comes in.” Oliver expressed his distaste. “I am glad,” Eleanor blurted out making Oliver grin. “I like your sense of humor,” Oliver said. “See you someday again. Bye.” Eleanor smiled and nodded as he left. She was surprised at how different Oliver was compared to Rickard. But she was glad at least she got along with one of them. After thinking to herself for a moment she spotted Rickard and Oliver leaving the bar and she decided to call Rebecca to find out where she was. On the call, Rebecca told her to wait outside the bar, and then together they went home. When Eleanor told Rebecca about what happened she cursed Eleanor for not calling her when all of this was happening. Rebecca loved live-action and she also thought that Rickard was interested in her; a third time in a row couldn’t be a coincidence.
