chapter 30

[Alpha Adam pov}

We were going in and out for days now, I would hurry up and do paperwork, make phone calls, check emails and sign paperwork. i didn't want to leave my daughter for to long, i took a shower, got dressed and hurried back to the pack hospital to be by my daughter side, when i walked into the room Callie was laying her head on Ivorys bed, I walked over to the side of the bed where she was sitting, I gently placed my hand on her shoulder, she raised up looking up at me i could tell she was crying, I picked her up from the chair and held her tightly,

‘It's going to be okay Callie, she's going to come back to us, maybe not to today or tomorrow, but she will come back honey,”

i felt her nod as she laid her head on my chest, damn i have missed this so much, holding her tightly i kissed the top of her head and let her go, when she looked up at me, she told me the story of when Ivory was born, i set down to listen i did not want to miss one word she had to say,

“I don’t know Adam, when I knew i was in labour i rushed to a hospital, i was praying to the goddess that she would come out looking human instead of wolf, because we all know how the humans are if something is strange on someone they would ask many questions, I was in pain for almost twenty four hours, i was cursing your name in every way wishing you would had felt that pain as i did, when she finally came out she made no cries, i was so worried i thought something had happened, the nurses took her to clean her up while the doctor tended to me, they brought her back cleaned with a blanket around her, they placed her in my arms i looked into her eyes Adam, all i saw was me, she knew who i was right away she smiled like she could see everything that was going on, i knew our daughter was special, i would protect her with my life, when you threw me out that day, i didn't know i was pregnant, only when i drove away from the pack land only then my wolf Lita told me, so i drove on i knew i had to keep us safe from any harm, i ran into rogues every now in then, but they left us be, i don’t know why but they did, i kept to ourself, i worked and when i had enough money we ran again, i did not want anyone to find us, but look at us now, we are talking infront of our childs bed wondering when she will wake up from her early shift, she wasnt suppose to shift so early Adam, what are we going to do now?”

I listened to Callie as she poured her heart out to me, i now knew why she ran and kept running, she did not even know she was carrying our pup when she left, she had to go through so much while she was gone, even the hard labour of having our child, i sighed as i pulled her close to me again, i felt her tears wet my shirt, i knew she was upset, i just did not know how to calm her without trying to do anything that she might think i was taking advantage of her in this state of mind, sighing i kissed the top of her head, when i heard the machines started going off like crazy, the doctors ran into the room, they stopped in there tracks, as they entered, there mouths were dropped open as they looked over our shoulders, it made me wonder what the hell was going on, we slowly turned around we where looking right at our daughter that was sitting up in bed, how long was she like this, did she hear everything that was said, we rushed over to her i was wanting to hug her tightly, but i dared not, i did not want her in any more pain,

{Callie pov}

this was sudden, we were talking about Ivory, and then the machines started going on, we slowly turned around and there she was sitting up like nothing ever happened, what in the world was going on, how much has she heard, we rushed over and we stood by her bed as the doctors checked her, he turned to us smiling a asuring smile,

“She is fine Alpha, she just had some stressed from the shifting since she was still to young to shift, but other then that she is fine, let me go and get the paperwork and she can leave as soon as she wants to,”

we watched him leave, i knew i had brought her a fresh pair of clothes every time i came and took the old ones away, i wanted her to feel comfortable when she woke up,

“Are you ready to go home honey, do you feel that you can walk?” of course she can walk, she is not a baby anymore but i am her mother, she will always be my baby,”

“Mom, dad, before we go anywhere, there is something i need to tell you that the moon goddess has told me, so we set down to listen because once the moon goddess visited you, it must be something really important, and i did not want to miss a word, we needed to know everything, when she was done telling us what she was told, Adam stood up pacing,

“who in their right mind would make me try and kill my own daughter, why would they do this right when we have happiness again, i heard him growl, i had never heard him growl before, he was pissed, he was more angry then he was that night, something tells me he knew the person that was going to do this, and something tells, i knew who the person was as well,
