Chapter 14: Hope Appears

There was a huge hole in the wall ahead. It was circular and jagged around the edges like the mouth of a cave. This exit led to a cavern of sorts with light streaming from an opening overhead. Below, there was water. A large pool under the earth.
“What is this?” Wondered Wisteria.
The water looked surprisingly clean and inviting. I tried to peer into the depths of it. Would there be fish down there?
“I think this is a well,” I said. “The light overhead must be the opening to the well. That means we have a way out and in!”
“We just have to find Sariah and get back here and climb all the way up there,” muttered Wisteria with a heavy sigh. “But where did this water come from?”
