I waited with bated breath.
“Well?!” Prompted Wisteria. “Tell us! Don’t keep us in suspense!”
“Okay,” said Rodney. “But I’d rather explain to you girls in person!”
“No,” said Wisteria. “Tell us now!” She demanded.
“I’ll be back at the motel in fifteen minutes,” said Rodney dismissively. “Actually make that a half hour!”
He hung up. Wisteria was livid.
“The nerve of him!” She growled. “What the hell is wrong with him?!”
She was driving at top speed. We were not that far away from the motel so we made it back there in less than fifteen minutes. That left me with fifteen more minutes of waiting for Rodney. My anxiety grew and grew.
