Prologue
Thanks for supporting my story! This is Book 2 of the Red Thorn Series! I highly recommend first reading Book 1 - The Dragon King's Dark Angel, but it's not a must.

“How do I look?” I asked, twirling around to show off the dress Brianna made special just for me.
“You look stunning as always, my angel,” Atreyu sweetly hummed, as he got to his feet, then he quickly closed the gap between. After taking me into his arms and slightly dipping me backward, he breathed out, “If we didn’t have to leave in a few minutes, I would be removing this beautiful dress, so you could put it back on and show it off like that again.”
It really was a gorgeous dress, and Brianna made it in a way that allowed the front of the dress to comfortably flow over my baby bump. It was light pink in color with a short bust made of satin and a medium length skirt with several layers of lace, making it flare out around my legs. The thin spaghetti straps were lined with little pink pearls, as was the bottom line of the bust conveniently placed just below my bosom.
I opted to wear a pair of light pink flats, because they were easier to walk in. Not to mention, so much more comfortable on my swollen feet.
Lorelei did an excellent job with my hair and make-up, ensuring the colors on my face beautifully complimented the dress. My hair was pulled back in a fancy braided bun with tendrils sporadically pulled out and curled to perfection.
Atreyu was also dressed in his best, wearing a dark gray suit with white pinstripes and a white undershirt. His long black hair was pulled back at the nape of his neck, and his face was clean-shaven and smooth.
I reached up and cupped his smooth cheek in the palm of my hand, then I beamed a smile while lovingly complimenting, “You look so handsome, my love.”
Atreyu returned the smile, showing me his pearly whites, then brought his lips to mine for a short but sweet kiss. As he pulled his lips away, he softly murmured, “I love you, angel.”
“I love you, too,” I breathed out, enjoying the sweet thoughts going through my mate’s mind.
Once Atreyu pulled me back upright, he excitedly asked, “Are you ready for this?”
“I am! What about you?” I immediately replied.
“You know it,” he cheekily replied with a wink.
“Let’s do this!” I exclaimed while grabbing his hand.
Atreyu chuckled in response, as I pulled him with me toward the front door of our chambers. When I reached out to grab the doorknob, Atreyu stopped me and asked, “Are you sure this is what you want?”
“It’s gonna be a lot to take on, but it’s totally worth it, if it means eternity with you,” I answered in complete honesty.
“Eternity with my angel! How did I get so lucky?” Atreyu murmured next to my ear, as he reached past me and opened the door.
“I ask myself that every morning when I wake-up and see your handsome face,” I admitted before pecking a kiss on his cheek.
As we walked hand-in-hand to the garden where we were meeting my mother, I thought about what our future was going to actually be like. The baby was due to arrive in two months, then I would have another three to six months of training before I officially became the Divine Goddess of Creation.
That’s when Atreyu and I would both become immortal. Unfortunately, our offspring wouldn’t be immortal, but my mother assured me, I would be able to bring our baby boy to the castle up in the heavenly clouds.
However, I would only be able to do that until his first shift, if he turns out to be a weredragon with no angel attributes. On the upside, if he ends up being a light angel, he’ll be able to go up there anytime he wants, regardless of weredragon or hybrid status. That would hold true for any of future offspring.
Today was the day Atreyu and I would get an official tour of the castle that would become ours in the near future. I had been there a few times over the last few months, but this would be Atreyu’s first time seeing it.
He’d been so busy getting his army back to where it needed to be and helping Aurora when necessary, he hadn’t been able to join me sooner for a tour. It sucked having to spend time away from him when I was up there, but there was no way around it, and it was something I needed to get used to.
There were a few different times Atreyu mentioned giving the title of King to somebody else, so we wouldn’t have to be apart, but I refused to let him do that. He was an amazing king to our citizens, and he worked too hard to get where he was to just walk away.
Plus, the Red Thorn Kingdom would be our baby’s future. I could never take my baby’s future from him for my own selfish reasons.
Atreyu must have also been lost in his thoughts, because he didn’t say a word until we reached the garden. At which point, he squeezed my hand for reassurance and mumbled, “I can’t wait to see this place.”
“It’s going to completely dazzle you,” I remarked with a small smile playing on my lips.
“My darling girl! You look so radiant today!” my mother gushed after appearing to our side, startling both of us.
I was still getting used to her randomly appearing out of nowhere, but I had to admit. I was looking forward to doing that to my own children in the future.
Once I got over the initial shock, I gave my mom a hug and greeted, “Thank you. It’s nice to see you again.”
“Likewise,” she hummed before pulling away from me and giving Atreyu a quick hug, then she got straight to the point and asked, “Are the two of you both ready?”
“Yes,” we answered in unison, earning a melodic giggle from my mother.
After wrapping one arm around Atreyu’s shoulder and her other arm around my shoulder, she cheerfully mumbled, “Time to go.”
The next second, she pushed off the ground with her feet, making us shoot up into the clouds at lightning speed. When we landed on the large cloud holding up the Divine Goddess of Creation’s castle, Atreyu’s jaw dropped, as he gazed at the charming white masterpiece.
