Kyra paced around her room, anxiously wiggling her fingers nervously. Her eyes darted to the window when she heard a knock, and she quickly ran to slide open the glass to allow Tristan to come in. The window was very tall and wide, Tristan could pass through easily with another man his size and Tristan was not a small man. Most of the time, she was grateful for this window because how would she be able to see him anytime she wanted to and could not leave her father's palace? Her room was also at the end of the building, far from her siblings' rooms so they won't be disturbed here. “Did anyone see you?” She asked him with wide eyes as she looked him from up to down to check if he sustained any injury from climbing the wall to her room that was on the third floor of her father's palace. “You worry too much.” Tristan laughed as he jumped inside the room and wrapped her up in a hug. “Of course, I worry too much. It's because I love you,” Kyra said as she hugged him back, breathing in his scent that was soothing, and she immediately felt herself calming down. She has been worried that he would be caught. It might not be his first time sneaking into her room, but that didn't stop her from worrying about him. She kept getting this feeling that one day, he would be caught, and it won't end well. Tristan was her fated mate, but she couldn't be caught with him because he was the alpha of the neighboring pack which happened to be her pack's rival. The two packs have been at war for the longest of times, right from Tristan's and her ancestors until now, and Kyra was hoping that they would be the ones to end the long time feud. The moon goddess knew what she was doing when she paired them as mates and now, she was pregnant with Tristan's child and could not wait to tell him. Her father would understand. When he hears that she's pregnant, he wouldn't have any other choice than to bless her and Tristan's union. Her father might not like her as he did his other children because he felt that she killed his wife; her mother during childbirth. Her mother was his fated mate and the love of his life. He also detested the sight of her because she looked so much like her mother with her blonde hair and baby blue eyes that sparkled with life. Once she and Tristan tell him about their child, Tristan would suggest that they settle their long-time feud and they would sign a peace treaty. She knew that her father, Ezekiel, was tired of the constant war and fight between the two countries. He would be willing to sign the peace treaty, and she was also sure that he would be happy to see her leave the palace as he had always deemed her as useless. “Hey, what are you thinking about?” Kyra snapped out of her thoughts when she felt David bop her nose. She found him smiling down at her and felt her heart swell with love for him. There was absolutely no need to be scared. This man loved her so much. If not, he would have rejected her when he found out that they were mates. His father died recently of poisoning, and he had to take over as the pack's alpha. She was going to be his Luna, and she just couldn't wait for that time to come. She wanted to be by his side forever. “I’m thinking about our future together, Tristan” she told him with a happy smile as she bounced on her feet, “Soon, I will be your Luna and you won't have to always sneak into my room to see me.” A dark glint of mockery flashed in Tristan's eyes, but Kyra was far too gone in her daydreams of when they would be together without hiding to notice it. “Of course, very soon we will be the most powerful couple in the Werewolf's world.” Tristan's words came out dripping in sarcasm. “Yes, we…” Kyra jumped on one foot and let out an ear-piercing scream when someone kicked her door from outside, and it split open with a loud bang. She turned around with widened eyes to see her father and his men standing at the door. Her father had a deep scowl on his face and as he took in everything in her room and when his eyes came to rest on Tristan, his expression changed to one of fury. “What is going on here?” Ezekiel asked as he took one menacing step into the room. “Dad?” Kyra called, her voice shaky with fear as she took one step back. How come her father is here in her room? He never came to see her, he only called her out whenever he needed her. Most of the time, he ignored her existence. “I asked you a question, what is going on here?” Ezekiel roared when it looked like Kyra was not answering him as quickly as he would have loved. “Dad I…” “What is he doing inside your room, you stupid thing?” Ezekiel asked as he pointed at Tristan, who was standing behind Kyra without an ounce of fear. He was even watching Ezekiel with mockery and challenge in his eyes. Kyra looked back at Tristan behind her before turning to face her father again. She did not know what to say, she was just confused. She knew that one mistake and her father would have Tristan arrested. Tristan usually came to see her without his men for fear of them being seen, how would he defend himself against her father and his many men? Tristan might be an alpha but how was he to fight with so many people and not get hurt? Her father was also an alpha and she knew just how strong he was. Tristan won't be able to beat him in a fight because her father was much more experienced than he was and had been an alpha for many years now. She couldn't let her father do anything to him, she would die first before she saw him get hurt. She was the reason he was here. Kyra stepped in front of Tristan, using her small body to block him from her father's view, “Dad, please don't hurt him.” Kyra pleaded as tears welled up in her eyes. “I shouldn't hurt him?” Ezekiel yelled exasperatedly, “I was in my throne room when I was alerted of a stranger jumping into my daughter's room through the window. I thought you were in danger and rushed down here, only to see that you were the one that invited the stranger. You are even begging for him, our enemy!” Ezekiel could not believe his eyes. He wondered what was going on between his daughter and Tristan, who was their pack's enemy. A small feeling of warmth flowed through Kyra at the fact that her father still cared a little for her. He had been scared that she was in danger and rushed over to save her. Maybe he did not hate her as much as she thought, all she had to do was tell him about her and Tristan and all would be well. “Dad, please. He is my mate, I can't allow you to hurt him." “He is your what?” Ezekiel bellowed in surprise and his gaze turned furious when he saw Tristan smirking at him, “This bastard is your mate?”
