Aksel ~ The flight from Ismailia, Egypt to Perth, Australia was a seventeen-hour trip with one stop that lasted three hours in an airport. I’m not sure why my wolf, Lars, told me to come with these guys but I listened to him. Sure, the adventure was worth it and I made friends, but this trip was horrible. While we sat in the airport waiting for our connecting flight, I watched Krew with Mona. They were sweet together and I was happy that at least one of us had found our mate along this trip. I wonder when the rest of us will find the other half of our souls. I also silently sat in horror realizing that it was almost spring time and Krew hadn’t claimed Mona. He would need to do that soon or her heat would come and it would be awful for all of us. One she-wolf with a group of guys and that she-wolf being in heat. I worried how that might affect poor Grant more than any of us. Once we were finally in Australia, we stepped out of the airport and the weather was dry and hot here. I grimaced at the change in climate and watched as Grant f*****g thrived in it along with Mona. The rest of us hated it. Grant got us a Volkswagen Tiguan at a rental place for us to drive to the next pack in. We put our things in the back and loaded up. Grant drove while Otto sat in the passenger seat. I was in the back with Mona and Krew. It was grossly warm here and I didn’t want to be touched. I hope we get to the pack soon so I can put distance between me and everyone else. No more touching! Soon the paved road we were on turned into a red dirt road with a lot of vegetation, sand and rocks in the area. It was nice to see trees, but it was like being back in Egypt but hotter. “This place looks like the area I’m from,” Grant said. No wonder he was fine. Ugh! I hated this. He kept driving until we came to a gate with a single guard on patrol. Grant rolled his window down as the guard approached and the rest of us watched quietly. The guard was wearing tan tactical gear and a baseball hat. “G’day. How ya doin’?” he asked in his Australian accent. “Hi, I’m doing great. What about you?” Grant asked in a friendly voice. “It’s goin’ sweet. So what brings ya here?” the guard asked in a friendly tone. “I’m Alpha Grant. I’m here to see Alpha Chris.” “Oh! He said I would be seen ya today. He will be at the packhouse in his office. Keep driving straight ahead until ya see a large red brick building.” “Thanks.” “Ya welcome, mate.” The interaction was strange and I was apprehensive about this place. They were so friendly here, just like most of the places we have been to. Sure, the people back home could be friendly, but we were also very honest and told each other to f**k off when we needed to. The guard walked off and Grant rolled up his window as he started to drive forward. We drove on the dirt road until we hit the pavement again. A few minutes later, a small town made of red brick buildings came into view. The largest one had a large man standing on the front steps looking out at the street. I assumed that was Alpha Chris. Grant drove up to the building and parked before all of us got out and stretched. The man standing on the steps started to walk toward us and offered his hand to Grant. Grant took his hand and they shook. “G’day, Grant. I’m Alpha Chris.” “It’s good to meet you,” Grant said before introducing all of us. “Come on in,” he said, waving his hand up to the building. All of us went inside the air-conditioned building and Alpha Chris showed us to our rooms in the packhouse before we got our things. I was next to Otto as usual and Grant was stuck with the happy couple next to him. I wanted to laugh but I was so thankful that I wouldn't be listening to that if they decided to mate. ~ Grant I felt more at home here than I had in other places. I think it had to do with the friendly people and the landscape. Not only that, but Alpha Chris reminded me of a younger version of my dad. I knew the two of them got along because my dad spoke highly of this Alpha. After we set our things down in our rooms, Alpha Chris showed us around town before we headed to have dinner. We went back to the packhouse and we sat in the dining room. We were joined by others and Alpha Chris introduced us to his Luna, Ella, their only son, Thomas, who looked to be about thirteen, and their three daughters, Ruby, Sienna and Hallie. The two younger girls had to be twins. They were like my parents with a big brood of pups. We also got to meet Beta Arlo, his mate Mia and their son Will. As we talked, we were served fish ‘n’ chips for dinner. It was nice to have something some of us were familiar with. I watched Aksel and Mona to see if they approved of their meal and they were happy with it. After dinner, I went to my room and showered the dust off myself. I checked the world clock and saw that we were thirteen hours ahead of Texas again. It frustrated me, but this would be the last month it was like this. I messaged everyone that we were here and what time it was for us. Communication was going to be low again, but it would be alright. ~ I woke up the next morning and looked at the time. It was six-thirty here, so it was five-thirty in the evening there. I lay in bed for a few minutes and texted Madison before I got up and started to move around my room. I meditated for twenty minutes before getting dressed and going to the dining room to have breakfast. I sat down at a table and waited for my food and the others to meet me down here. Alpha Chris and Beta Arlo were the first people to join me and we were given breakfast. I turned my attention to the plate of food in front of me. We were having scrambled eggs with sausage and toast. I saw Chris and Arlo passing around a jar of vegemite and putting it on their toast. Chris handed me the jar and I took a small amount and spread it very thinly on my toast. I took a bite and tasted the salty, bitter and yet malty flavor. I wasn’t sure what I thought of it. “Ya did better with that than ya uncle did,” Chris told me. I smiled and continued eating my breakfast. Soon, Otto and Aksel joined us and got a plate of food. They began to eat and passed on trying the vegemite. As we ate, I wondered where Mona and Krew were this morning. I finished eating and sat there waiting to see the last of my pack members. Last night was the first time they had shared a room and a bed, so there's no telling what had gone on or what was going on. Krew and Mona came rushing into the dining room and sat down with us right as Everyone else was finishing with breakfast. That’s when all of us took notice of Mona’s fresh claiming mark on her neck. She is stuck with us now! “Congratulations you two!” I said with a smile, looking at Krew and Mona. Otto and Aksel joined me in congratulating them and Mona turned bright red as she smiled warmly. You could tell that she was happy even though she was a little shy about it. “Will you stick with the traditional face tattoos of your birth pack?” Otto asked Mona. “I’m not sure yet. Maybe,” she answered as her and Krew began to eat breakfast. When everyone was done eating, we went out to the training area with Apha Chris and Beta Arlo. We paired up and started to train in the sand while Mona watched us under some shade. Training lasted most of the morning as everyone tried to take me to the ground and pin me. No one was successful as usual. I was unstoppable! After training, we all went back to the packhouse to clean up. When I was clean and had fresh clothes on, my pack met out front of the packhouse building. I wanted to look around town a little more today. We walked around and looked at the businesses the pack had along with meeting the members we didn’t get to yesterday. As we stepped into the square, I saw a she-wolf that I had to do a double take with astonishment. She looked like a clone of Madison and it shocked the hell out of me. The only difference was that she had brown eyes instead of blue. She noticed me staring at her and she smiled before stepping up to me and asked in a thick Australian accent, “Can I help you?” “You look almost exactly like my best friend from back home. I was shocked as hell. I’m sorry I was staring,” I told her while trying not to be awkward. She giggled and said, “No worries.” I offered her my hand and she took it with a good shake while I said, “I’m Alpha Grant.” “Good to meet ya. I’m Sally.” “It’s a pleasure,” I told her. Otto butted in and asked, “how old are you?” I let go of Sally’s hand and looked at Otto with a glare. What the f**k was he doing? “Eighteen,” Sally answered with a smile. She was my age and she wasn’t my mate, but I was attracted to her because of the thought of Madison. f**k! I was hopeless. Goddess help me or I would be a goner. “Could you show us around town a little more?” Otto asked with a giant grin. “Sure,” she said, motioning her head further into town. We followed her around and talked with her for a while. She was really nice and didn’t have a problem sticking up for herself. That was rare with some she-wolves. Especially Omegas. As we walked around, I had moments alone with Sally and I could tell that she felt an attraction towards me. I could read others sometimes even when I didn’t want to. I was being an i***t and I was about to tempt fate. I reached out to touch a strand of hair that had been blown into her face. Right as I was about to touch it, I felt Skoll growl at me in warning. “Don’t touch her,” Skoll growled at me. I stopped what I was doing and dropped my hand. I had been looking into her pretty brown eyes but now I was looking away from her. Skoll wouldn’t let me do this. “I’m sorry. My Lycan won’t let me touch anyone that isn’t mine and he won’t let any she-wolf touch me either. I was going to move your hair but he won’t let me do that even.” “f**k me dead,” she said with a surprised look on her face. I wrinkled my face, wondering what she meant. That was different. “Sorry, that was shocking to me. Most wolves don’t even care if we are with another before we find our mates. It’s a shame that your Lycan is like that. You’re too sexy to be held back.” I felt my face heat up a little before I nodded my head in understanding, then watched her walk off. “Why would you let me kiss and touch Madison the way I have but not anyone else?” I asked Skoll. “She’s different and I like her.” “Sally is nice and I like her.” “She’s not ours.” “I know that, but what’s different about Madison?” I asked. “I don’t know!” he yelled at me. I dropped it knowing I wouldn’t get answers today. I huffed in frustration and finished walking around town with the others. I wouldn’t tempt Skoll anymore after this. I would wait. ~ Eric had been texting me a lot recently, letting me know what was going on with family members back home. “James found his mate finally,” Eric texted me. “Oh yeah? How did it turn out to be? Anyone we know?” “Yeah. Gillian. Beta Freddie’s daughter.” I knew it! Just as I had expected. I told Otto and Krew about it and they both knew what I was thinking. Madison had to be mine but I wasn’t going to voice that to anyone. I could still be very wrong, but I didn’t want to be. “That’s crazy! I’m happy for them though,” I texted Eric. “Me too. Except for the issues they are running into now.” “What’s going on?” “Gillian is an Oracle and there's someone after her. They were in Georgia getting information about the pack that Willow’s parents came from before they headed to Greece this morning. Uncle Sean is helping them as much as he can.” “That’s f*****g insane!” “Yeah it is.” I texted uncle Sean to learn what I could from him about James’s situation. Uncle Sean told me all about it as he did research to help them. I offered my help if they needed it, but uncle Sean told me to stay on my task. This wasn’t my fight. He was right, it wasn’t and I had my own things to do and accomplish, but I wanted to help my family. ~ Our month went by quickly and not much came from my time here. I was ready to get to Brazil and learn what I could. See if I could meet a witch that could give me the answers I so desperately wanted. I just hope it’s not another cryptic deadend.
