Chapter 7: Swinging the Bat

Damien swung the bat with full force as he saw the ball come in the right distance. He felt the impact of the ball on the base ball bat as the ball flew way away .

He looked at Audrey who had her mouth hung open as she gazed with big eyes into the far off distance the ball flew into .

"How did you do that !?" She exclaimed bumping a fist on his bicep.

No one ever bumped a fist on his bicep , yet she did.

"You have to teach me that !" She said with enthusiasm . It was surprising how this girl would get excited and happy over small things like this.

"Sure ,let's see your batting posture first " Damien said and gave her the bat and she took her position.

Her posture was ridiculous and somehow cute . She held the bad from almost the middle , her base ball cap was apparently too big on her and tipping down towards her eyes and the way she tried bending like a professional was very amusing , adorable and ridiculous. It made an involuntary smile creep up on Damien's face.

"Now see your posture is very wrong" Damien spoke making his way towards her in order to correct the way she was standing . He stood behind her . Close . Really close .

Audrey could feel Damien's hot breath on her ear and it made her take in a huge gulp because of the shivers that ran down her spine and the hair on the nape of her neck that stood straight . It was a very new feeling to both of them.

Damien had a very strong urge to kiss her long , soft and exposed neck but he fought it . Clearing up his lusty thoughts about the girl in front of him who was apparently learning base ball from him.

Damien slid up his hands up on Audrey's bringing them down more towards the handle of the bat then he took a hold of her shoulders and straighten them after that he backed up and stood in front of her he looked over Audrey's posture and it was fine only one thing was out of place he went forward towards her and pushed her base ball cap up so it was out of her eyes. Now it's perfect.

Damien then took the ball and took his position on the field to throw it.

He knew she won't be able to hit the ball at a normal velocity so he threw it slow plus as much as he didn't wanna admit he cared about her and didn't want her to get hurt but guess what Audrey even missed that .

"See this is so hard for me, I can't do it the coach was right" Audrey said, all the while pouting.

"Oh come on it was your first try let's try again I am sure you'll get it right at some point "Damien said encouraging her he then threw the ball again .

After a lot of times of Damien throwing the ball and Audrey swinging her bat trying to hit the ball but in vain they took a break.

This was a lot harder than Damien thought it would be.

At his failure of hitting the ball Damien set up the ball pitcher machine and loaded the baseballs into it .

He then made his way towards Audrey quickly and circled his arms around her to hold the bat with her and before or we could do anything or say anything for that matter she saw a baseball coming right at them as she thought that the ball was gonna hit them Damien swung the bat with his hands on hers and the ball went far into the distance the chance to register what just happened another ball game flying towards them Damien again swung the bat and yet again the ball went for off .

After a few more swing Audrey got used to it and started swing the bat with Damien. She actually started enjoying baseball that was until the balls in the pitcher finished.

"So did you get a hang of how to swing the bat yet ?" Damien asked Audrey standing in front of her with his hands in his pockets with and a sly smirk plastered on his face .

"Oh yeah totally, I got your technique" she said with a grin plastered on her face.

"Alright then if that's the case then let's let's try this again" Damien set picking up the ball and throwing at this time at a normal velocity and to his absolute surprised she hit the ball well not very hard but it was good enough.

" I hit it OMG I hit it !" Audrey shouted out in excitement all the while dancing around in the field.

She then ran towards Damien and hugged his torso.

"Thank you thank you thank you " she said looking up at him . The hight difference was obvious. She felt so right against him , it felt so right to have her in his arms.

Fucking stop ! What the hell is wrong with me !

"Yea ... umm... no problem" Damien said awkwardly gently taking a hold of Audrey's shoulder and prying her away from him because her being close was driving him insane .

The sun was setting now and the sky was an orange colour . It was time that he get her back home .

It had took a lot of convincing from Audrey's side to Bianca to let her go with Damien and not to forget the threats five foot nine Bianca made towards him . The last thing he wanted to face was Bianca's cannibalism if he did not get Audrey home on time .

"The sun's setting , I need to get you home" Damien said

"Okey dokey let's go " Audrey said swinging her bag half way over her shoulder but instantly dropping it while wincing.

It immediately alerted Damien .

"Hey are you okay " he asked standing right in front of her in seconds.

"Yea , it's just my shoulders are a bit sore from all the swinging of bat" she said while massaging her own shoulders.

How the hell is she gonna play baseball if she is this fragile ?

Damien swung his bag and her bag on his shoulder at the same time and walked to his truck with Audrey following close behind.

"Hey Rey ! " Bianca said coming out of the house opening her arms open for Audrey who hugged her .

Damien got out of his truck with Audrey's bag which she had forgotten in the truck and he handed it over to her .

"Thank you so much Damien , I had a lot of fun and most of all I learned base ball" Audrey said thanking him while Damien only nodded .

"I'll take my leave now" he said looking towards Bianca who gave him a smile and a nod while Audrey waved furiously at him, which he basically ignored cause she looked like a maniac doing that.

"It was so much fun, he set up the ball pitcher....." Damien heard Audrey's excited voice at a distance as he walked over to his truck ready to take off.

He smiled. He knew that he had fun and he knew that it was in a long while that he had fun . He just was in denial to himself , but for how long .
