KADEN'S POV
Her hands were rough against mine, her lips bold and fearless. She spoke without mincing words. She said what she wanted loud and clear. Judging by her outward appearance, she looked naive, but deep beyond that mask, I could see a wild woman. However, that came to be. From the moonlight that streamed into the car, her face was illuminated in a way that was lovely and breathtaking. I don't know what drew me to this woman, but I couldn't control it. Couldn't fight it.
But she was more than drunk, or maybe was faking it. But I didn't know why my heart did backflip when I laid my eyes on her. When I noticed her as she perched there on that stool, taking shots after shots of whiskey, speaking to another woman, I guessed it was her friend, Judging by the way they spoke. I wanted her. I wanted to talk to her, feel her, and have her for myself. Make her mine.
I extended a hand for her as the car came to a halt. She took my outstretched hand, stumbled, and fell into my arms before looking up at me from beneath her lashes. At that look, my heart stopped beating for a while before it resumed again as she walked towards the hotel before turning to me. And there in the moonlight, did she look just like a goddess? Her hair, made to look like a curtain of fine silk in the moonlight. My heart rate was increased by a hundred percent, and I thought I might have been having a heart attack. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at me.
I walked beside her as we both walked into the hotel, taking the elevator. In the elevator, we spoke nothing to each other as we headed for the room. Why had she just decided to come with me? A total stranger?
All those thoughts vanished as we got to the room and were slammed into a wall as soon as the door closed. Sh*t! I hadn't even asked for her name. I made to ask her, but she placed a finger over my lips, unbuttoning my shirt.
"Shhhh." She hushed gently.
When she was through, she tossed it behind her and began her tour of my muscles.
"You're..." She trailed off, meeting my eyes again. Her eyes were so hazy and soft. She giggled and covered her mouth shyly. "Perfect." Her eyes left mine. "Unlike me," she added, a blow to my heart.
You're perfect. The epitome of a goddess. But she was putting her hands over my shoulder, gently massaging my ear. I purred before pushing her into the bed and continuing what I had started at the club. She giggled like a playful child, letting me have my way with her as I pleased, letting my mouth and hands roam free. She requested three more rounds after the first, and I had to give it to her. It was like she had imprinted a hold on me. A supernatural one.
By day, everyone knows Kaden Mikaelson to be a billionaire and CEO of the Kingscorp company. I ran the company with an iron fist, taking us from zero to a billion in just a few years. By night, I was the Mafia Don of America Mafia, the strongest Mafia group in the country. Everyone in the underground knew who I was. They quaked in fear at the mention of my name. I was ruthless. I was lethal. I always got the job done. Kaden Mikaelson was a force to reckon with.
Only a few people know of my double life. And this angel beside me would have been among them if only she had remembered that night I saved her after being attacked. She didn't recall, and it wasn't my place to remind her. So I just let it be.
We fell asleep after the entire night activity we engaged in, and by the time I opened my eyes, birds were twittering outside the window we had left open for all to hear our moans and grunts. I turned to the woman that lay beside me, studying her features closely.
She was beautiful. Alluring. She was perfect. But why did she think she wasn't? Tracing my finger over her lips, she stirred but didn't wake up, moving closer to me. I felt the impact of her skin on mine, so as not to get hard all over again, I pushed myself slightly away from her. Her long lashes fluttered as she frowned in her sleep but soon disappeared as fast as they appeared.
My phone began to buzz. Levine was calling.
"We urgently need your presence, Don." His voice came into the line when I picked. Him addressing me like that made me know it's for the Mafia business, not the company. Levine is my second in command and head of the IT department in my company who also happens to be my closest friend but I won't say best friend because I don't really leave the gap to get close to people until my firecracker that is laying beside me right now.
"I'm in the middle of something important, Levine."
"There have been shipment issues with the customs at the border. They require the sole owner before they let it move through. They require you." I looked at the gorgeous that's sleeping soundly beside me, not wanting to leave her side.
All my instincts screamed at me to protect her. Even if it cost me my life. To take her here and now with me. To whisk her away. But that would be wide and cruel, and I could not do that, no matter what grounds I earnestly searched for.
"I'm on my way." I said to Levine, ending the call as I got out of bed, took a quick shower, and dressed up to leave. What was I going to leave behind for her? Money? A note? My number? I didn't know.
It had looked like I was a distraction for her. Something to take her mind off of whatever made her believe she wasn't perfect. Pestering her when I was nothing but a pleasurable distraction might not sit well with her, so I kissed her forehead and headed out to meet Levine.
I will come back for her. That's for sure.
