Ehab never cared about anyone ever before, he reached the hospital in record time.
As soon as they entered the emergency room, Ehab's mind was filled with a mix of emotions. Fear, anger, and confusion overwhelmed him as he watched the doctors and nurses rush to attend to Wafa. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her, even though he barely knew her.
Ehab paced back and forth in the waiting area, his heart pounding in his chest. He couldn't understand why he felt this way about someone he had just met. He was used to being the one who instilled fear in others, not the one who feared losing someone.
Hours passed, and Ehab's anxiety grew with each passing minute. Finally, a doctor approached him with news. Wafa was stable, but her condition was critical. She had lost a lot of blood and would need immediate surgery.
Ehab's heart sank at the news, but he knew he had to stay strong for Wafa. He made arrangements for her surgery and ensured that the best doctors were attending to her. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her, not after everything they had been through.
As he sat in the waiting room, Ehab couldn't help but reflect on the changes that Wafa had brought into his life. She had shown him a different side of himself, a side that he never knew existed. He realized that he was capable of feeling love and fear, just like any other person.
Ehab vowed to protect Wafa at all costs, to make sure that she would never have to fear again. He knew that his life would never be the same without her, and he was willing to do whatever it took to keep her safe.
In that moment, Ehab realized that love had the power to change even the most hardened hearts. He was no longer just a beast who reveled in bloodshed; he was a man who had found something worth fighting for.
Commanding the best doctor on his team for her surgery, he paced back and forth in the hospital lobby, waiting for the results. David, his sharpshooter, grabbed his attention as he appeared with a file. Ehab raised his eyebrow annoyingly, ready to hear any information David had dug up about their enemies.
"Boss, Keith Evans is aware of his daughter's arrival and that she is with us. We need to be careful and alert our security," David said in a professional tone. Ehab hissed and rubbed his forehead in frustration. Everything had happened so quickly that he barely had time to think about his enemy. Ehab was whipped.
"David, take all the necessary precautions. Also, make sure Nancy doesn't leave the country. Burn her passport and take her to my warehouse now. Where is Lucy? Ask her to visit me immediately," Ehab commanded, and David nodded in approval.
David stood there in confusion, unsure whether to reveal his and Lucy's small attempt to find out if Wafa was really diagnosed with the rare disease or not.
Ehab eyed David and narrowed his eyes. "Anything you want to say?" David gave a small nod. "Spill it," Ehab roared angrily. David rubbed his nape, feeling awkward about talking to his boss about a girl.
"Boss, last night Lucy and I planned something to find out the truth about Wafa. But what shocked us was that the girl is actually struggling with her memory. She barely remembered us, and I don't think she's a gold digger. She hesitated to take the expensive gifts Lucy brought for her," David spilled out the small yet important information. Ehab stood with an emotionless face.
"Are you kidding me? What if she's faking it all?" Ehab asked, shoving his hands in his pockets. His heart strictly prohibited him from thinking or saying such a thing.
"Then you wouldn't have rushed here just for a girl who barely knows your name," David said with a straight face. Ehab clenched his jaw at him. David had never tried to back answer him before.Meanwhile, Lucy, who had been informed by Amanda, arrived in her Bugatti, as always wearing a short yet revealing dress. David rolled his eyes at her, but she paid no attention. Ehab was talking to the doctor, who had just come out of the operating theater. "How is she now?" Lucy asked sadly.
"She has to be alive, otherwise the boss will definitely destroy the world," David said, causing Lucy to snap her head towards him and hum in response. Meanwhile, Ehab rushed into the operating theater, with the nurse helping him put on a hospital gown. His eyes widened like saucers when he saw her lifeless body on the bed. The doctor himself was shocked at why this girl was so important to him. Ehab slowly approached her and gently caressed her pale cheek. The doctor, with the necessary equipment, was ready for the surgery. "Ehab, will you be able to do this?" the doctor asked, and Ehab nodded.
The doctor made her lifeless body sit up and leaned on his shoulder. Ehab held her shoulders tightly in his embrace. The doctor began the treatment to remove the bullet that was lodged in her back. Ehab's mind went numb, and her hot yet small breaths falling on his neck gave him a strange sensation throughout his body. Her soft, delicate back was exposed. He clenched his jaw, feeling a surge of jealousy and possessiveness as if another man was ogling her bare skin. He wished he could remove his eyes, which were fixated on his angel's exposed skin. Her skin was soft, fair, and smooth. He gently held her nape and glanced at her face. Her soft breaths gave him hope that she would recover soon. But his curiosity was aroused once again. Was she really as innocent as she appeared? Was David right? Was she a gold digger? What was her truth? He needed to find out.
