Warrior Princess

Lily's POV 8 YEARS AGO "Mommy! Mommy!" I yell running out of school, and ran straight into my mom's open arms. My little brother Tommy comes running out after me. My mom, Mary, came to pick us up as she always does. Before we can have our mother daughter picnic, we have to drop Tommy at his friends. We have a picnic every Friday after I get out of school, being around the guys all the time its hard to find time for just us, mom always likes to give us girl time to talk and hang out just us girls. Mom is wearing one of her sundresses, she always has to look her best, I guess that comes with being Luna to one of the biggest and strongest packs around. We are the Blue Moon Pack. She is absolutely beautiful! In her late thirties, she has long dirty blonde curly hair that falls almost to her bottom, big round blue eyes that sparkle like a sapphire, and high cheekbones. She is 5'6, has a tiny waist with curves in all the right places, atleast that's what dad always says. Her skin is flawless with a beautiful sun-kissed color from all the time we spend outside playing with my brothers and friends and training of course. My Dad or as everyone else calls him Alpha Eric is 6'4, with the brightest green eyes I have ever seen. He has dark brown hair that he keeps short, he doesn't like it anywhere past his ears. He is built like a tank, with big muscular arms, wide shoulders, and an 8 pack abs. With a strong jaw line and tan skin. Both my older and younger brother look just like him but my older brother Matthew, Matt, or as I call him Matty has dirty blonde hair like mom and my younger brother Thomas, Tom, or as l call him Tommy his dark brown hair just like dad. Matty just turned 12 and Tommy is 8 years old, but they are both very protective of me being the only girl. Dad always says I'm the spitting image of my mother. He always says when I come of age he is going to have to lock me up or make sure both of my brothers are always near me so they can scare all the boys away. I have long dirty blonde curly hair that goes down to the middle of my back, long toned legs, tan skin, but my eyes are a mix of my parents they are mostly blue but has green and gold swirls in them. "Bye mommy, bye Lil." I'm broken out of my thoughts when I hear my little brother Tommy saying bye to us. I hadn't even noticed we were already at his friends Kyle's house. "Are you ready my little princess?" My mom asks. "Luna! Luna!" We heard. Just before I could respond my dad's Beta Michael comes running up to us. " You guys going for your picnic? You know there has been an increase in rogue attacks lately. Please be careful." Michael continued with a soft smile but you could hear the concern in his voice. "Michael I know you are just looking out for us but you know we don't go far into the woods and that if anything gets that far across our borders that I can handle it." Mom tells him. "I know Luna but I just need to make sure you both are safe. you know the Alpha will have my head if anything happens to his girls." Michael said with the slightest bit of fear in his voice. "We will be fine plus where we sit patrol passes us every 10 minutes." I told him with a soft smile. I know mommy will always keep us safe, plus our warriors are the best out there. Even the royal pack calls dad when they need help training their warriors. He gave me an affectionate smile. "Alright ladies but please be careful!" He relented. Walking off towards the pack house. "Alright princess let's go!" mom said pushing me in the direction we always go for our picnic. As we came up to the clearing by the river that runs through our territory we start pulling everything out and setting it up like we always do. This spot has always been my favorite. Its just so peaceful here, the grass is so green and soft its like laying on a pillow, and river so clear you can see all the fish in it with it also has the prettiest waterfall it makes it look as if the water sparkles. An hour or so has past while we just sat, ate and talked about our days. I was in the middle of telling mom about how my friend Jill really likes Gamma Luke's son Harry and wants him to be her boyfriend. I don't know how she can think like that we are all werewolves we all have a mate out there. watching my mom and dad and the love they have for eachother I want a love like theirs. Just as I'm getting to the good part we caught the worst scent ever its smells like the dump but worse like if it caught on fire. the smell was burning my nose. Mom turned to me with wide eyes and picked me up. She ran over to the river dunked me in then dragged me over to a tree and started pushing me up it. "Dunking you in the water should help hide your sent we are to far from the pack house to make it to the safe rooms." Mom said. I'm to scared to say anything so I just nod my head. "Lily you have to climb, climb as far up as you can and be quiet. It will all be okay Princess!" She told me in a calm tone but if you listened close enough you can hear the fear in it. Mom got into a fighting stance as we heard the alarm go off in the distance to alert us to rogue attack. We heard growling that seemed to get closer by the second. "Be as quiet as you can do not make a sound. Be as still as you can." Mom said sternly. Just as she finished talking to me two of our pack warriors came up to moms side Mark and Tim, I believe their names are it was hard to tell with all the branches in my way. They must have been the warriors patrolling this part of the territory.I tried to stay as quiet as I could, but it is so hard with how scared I am. Out of nowhere you hear the pounding of paws on the ground. In seconds the bottom of the tree was surrounded but what looked like 20 rogues. How did so many get through our border. We have the best security, around the clock patrols, cameras, anything you can think of. Plus we are one of the strongest packs on this side of the US. "Well here we are! Just who we were looking for." One of the rogues said in a deep raspy voice, looking at my mom. "What do you want?" Mom said in a hard stern tone. "You!" That was all he said before all hell broke loose. I couldn't see all of what was going on. All I could hear is snapping, growling, and tearing of skin. I covered my hears and closed my eyes trying to block it all out so I didn't scream and distract mom or the warriors. When I open my eyes and uncovered my ears its' like all has gone silent. I started to climb down from where I have been hidding. The next sound I hear and see stops me cold in my steps. The site of my mom being held by a rogue by her neck and the guards that were protecting her not moving laying at their feet along side the rest of the rogues, but the 5 that managed to survive. Next thing I see will haunt me for the rest of my life! There was an ear piercing scream followed by the tearing of flesh as they pull my moms arms off followed by her head, a roar in the distance is heard shortly after. My moms head is thrown, rolling around at the bottom of the tree I'm in with her beautiful blue eyes looking at me. "Mom nooo!" I screamed. Before I know what is happening I jump out of the tree but before I hit the ground my bones break and when I land and look down I don't see my feet I see paws, gold paws 'My name is Gem I'm your wolf, protect mom.' I heard in my head. Before I know what is happening we are on the back of a rogue knocking him out as we lock our jaw in the back of his neck making him lose a lot of blood. As we looked up to take on another we saw the rest of the rogues running off. Dad's massive black wolf Slade, comes bursting through the trees followed by the rest of our warriors but it's to late the rogues are already gone, and so is mom. I jump off the rogue i just killed and stand over moms body in a protective stance my dad slowly approaches. He noticed the rogue I just jumped off of to protect what was left of mom "Lily bug? oh my Goddess!" Dad said while shifting back, holding his chest with tears in his eyes, as me and Gem snarled and whimpered at him to keep away. When dad gets closer it looks like he doesn't have the strength to keep himself upright any longer as he falls to his knees infront of us. As Gem see him she lays down next to nuzzle him as tears are streaming down both their faces. While in the back of my mind I made a promise not only to dad, my brothers and myself but for the whole pack I will avenge my mother's death. I am the only one that saw those men. Their faces and sents will forever be engraved in my mind. I will hunt them all down if it's the last thing I do.
