Odelia POV
“What do you expect from me, Sinner?” I ask the boy I can’t stand, calling him by his last name.
“I expect you to help tutor me in math, Odelia.”
I look over Aiden Sinner’s gorgeous profile. All of his muscles were present yet lean, and incredibly sexy.
This is a boy who came from everything. Who has everything. He can get the worlds best math tutor at his feet in a matter of minutes.
Why the f**k does he want me? Yes, I’m a good student. But whatever this rich boy’s obsession with me is, it needs to stop. Now. No later, right now.
Besides, we’re both fast tracking our education. He’s easily as smart as I am.
“Look, Aiden. I don’t have the time to help you. I have a ridiculous amount of my own stuff to do, not to mention that I’m president and speech captain of the debate team.” I assert.
“What about lunch? You can tutor me at lunch.” He presses.
“I make lesson plans during lunch. And if not that, I’m working on my speech that I was selected for nationals with, or doing other homework. Aiden, I stay up until 2am every night. I drink multiple Monster’s or Redbull’s a day to keep myself going. If you think that I have even thirty seconds to spare for you, you’re wrong.” I glance at my watch, my eyes widening.
“f**k! I still need to get in four hours of speech work! Aiden, you asshole! Go find some other girl to pester! There are hotter and more experienced girls all over this school. Leave me alone! Why can’t you be like other players and target the bitches? I’m going to settle down with a nice man and live an upper-middle class life. Your rich family isn’t appealing to me. You’re not appealing to me. I so don’t have time for players like you! Go f**k the cheerleading captain.” I say, spinning on my heel and running to my car.
I still have to lesson plan for my speech kids in debate class for the next week. On top of that I have four pages of AP calculus to complete and two English essays to write. And, of course, I have to get in my four hours of speech work.
I’m never letting Aiden corner me again. The five minutes I spent talking to him are the five minutes I spend eating a snack when I get home. Now I’ll just have to grab a Monster and get started. I thank god every day that I work fast. I can solve most math problems at a glance, and I can get a ten page research essay done in 45 minutes. Main reason? I have a semi-photographic memory.
As I speed home in my BMW I pray that I get all of my work done.
I have a relatively fortunate family. We’re not stupid rich like the Sinner’s, but my dad is a lawyer and makes good money. My mom’s not in the picture- she passed away from cancer when I was about 8.
I’m now 16 and a senior in high school. I fast tracked because I was smarter than everyone in my classes. I still am, to be honest. The only other person smart enough to fast track has been Aiden, and now he’s asking me for help in math. Is he insane?
I mean he’s 17 and a senior, but he just turned 17. I just turned 16.
It’s been in the last two or so weeks that Aiden’s had his eye on me. This is honestly strange because he very much tends to keep to himself. It’s not that he’s unappealing or unattractive- no, girls throw themselves at him. He just keeps his head down and eyes on his studies. His family, the Sinner’s, are very prestigious and rich. His room is probably the size of the first floor of my house, and that’s saying something. Every time some new technology comes out, he has it. He has several cars, and always dresses in name brands- even if it’s just normal every-day clothing. The boy is, a literal, legend. Albeit a quiet one- still a legend.
So why the hell is he interested in me? Sure, I have some suitors here and there, but I’m literally known around the school for not getting involved with guys. My friend group consists of my debate team, and all of the team members are like my children.
They even call me mom.
Anyways, I just hope I don’t have to deal with Aiden Sinner again tomorrow. One conversation with the boy is too much.
