Hayes slowly opened his eyes, shifting in the bed, but he became still when he felt a weight on top of him. He remembered what had happened the previous night, and he wanted to slap himself for it. A black haired girl with golden brown skin had her head on his chest, sleeping peacefully.
"Monica," he said softly, shaking her by her arm.
"Hmm?" She hummed, holding onto him tighter.
"Monica, I need to go," he said, tapping her cheek.
"Alright. I know you regret it anyway," she chuckled, before rolling to the other side, off of him.
"I'm sorry," he said softly, standing up from the bed.
"It's okay. I knew you just wanted a good time," she replied, her back towards him. She seemed chill, so he shrugged, putting on his clothes and leaving the room.
Hayes made his way to his parents' room, and knocked on the door, before entering. His mother smiled at him, and he smiled back, before walking up to her and sitting down in front of her.
"What's up?" He asked.
"Everything is great," she smiled. "How are you? You look tired."
"I'm fine," Hayes sighed, rubbing his face. "Rose rejected me."
"Oh, I'm sorry, son," Selene frowned, pulling him into a hug.
"Maybe you should stop trying to bed the Alpha's daughter," Walter commented, exiting from the washroom.
"I'm not trying to bed her. I really like her Dad," Hayes tried to explain, but his father started laughing.
"Give that s**t to someone who doesn't know you, Hayes. I'm your father. I've been through that age of yours. You're dying to find your mate, but she just isn't appearing. So you sleep with everyone else," he smirked, putting on his shoes.
"That's not true, Dad," Hayes retorted.
"Keep lying. I also know that you slept with Monica last night," he replied, standing up from the couch.
"What? Ho-how do you know that?"
"She was too loud, Son. The whole pack heard you. I can only imagine what your beloved Rose thinks of you now. One minute you're courting her, the next you're sleeping with another. You really got some spine," Walter chuckled.
"What?" Hayes stood up, his eyes wide.
"Next time I'd suggest you to use some brains instead of thinking from somewhere else," Walter replied, and Hayes rushed out of the room.
"Do you always have to be so mean to him?" Selene scowled, looking at her husband.
"He's an ass. Stupid as hell. Someone had to tell him," Walter shrugged, fixing his tie.
"Where are you going?" Selene frowned, deciding to change the subject.
"I've got to meet the witch," he replied.
"What? The one from Helmfirth? Why?" She asked in alarm.
"Well," Walter sighed. "Let's just say I made a mistake. I have to ask her for her advice. I trust she'll be able to do something for me."
"Walter," Selene stood up from the bed, making her way to him. She placed her hands on his chest, looking him in the eye. "What did you do?"
He looked down, not being able to maintain eye contact.
"It's nothing really-"
"Walter," she insisted. "The truth."
"I... I turned a human," Walter replied, and a gasp escaped Selene's lips. She stepped backwards, away from him in shock.
"What have you done?" She whispered, as a lone tear rolled down her cheek. "They're going to kill you."
"They won't find out," Walter replied. "That's why I'm going to the witch. She'll help me out."

"Hey, Ansel!" Hayes called out, grabbing him by his shoulder.
"What's up man?" Ansel asked frowning, as he turned around.
"Where is she?" Hayes asked.
"Rose?"
"Yeah. Where is she?"
"In the garden I think. In a bush," Ansel replied.
"What?" Hayes frowned, and Ansel started laughing. Hayes caught onto the joke, rolling his eyes.
"Seriously man, where is she?"
"She's actually in the garden," Ansel laughed.
"Thanks," Hayes muttered before running out.
He found her standing outside, her blonde locks gleaming under the golden sunlight. She was standing all alone, her back turned towards him. He heard a small sniff, and realized that she was crying. Hayes instantly felt guilt tug at his heart, and slowly walked up to her, taking in a deep breath. He stood beside her, completely silent for a moment.
"Hey," he whispered, staring straight ahead of them.
"Hi," she replied, sniffing. She turned her face away from him to wipe her tears away.
"Why are you crying?" He asked softly, crossing his arms.
"I'm not crying," she lied. "I just have a cold."
"We both know that's not true," Hayes replied, now turning towards her. "Hey," he said softly, taking her hands in his, making her face him. "Is it because of me?"
"Of course it's because of you, Hayes!" She replied, as a few tears escaped her eyes. "You tell me that you love me, and then you go to Monica. Were you playing with my feelings this whole time?"
"No, no, no," Hayes shook his head. "I wasn't trying to hurt you Rose. You're the one who rejected me. Monica was... Just a distraction last night."
"Well," Rose sniffed, taking her hands away from him. "If you need to be distracted from me so much, then why are you here right now? Just leave me alone Hayes."
"I'm not leaving," Hayes replied with determination. "You tell me something, Rose. Why are you upset?"
"Because..." She began, but stopped herself before she would blurt the truth out. She couldn't tell him she was in love with him too, could she? Was she even that sure of her feelings? She didn't really know.
"Because what, Rose?" He asked, gently placing his hands on her arms.
Rose took one look into his crystal blue eyes, the ones that reminded her of the clear morning sky, or the sparkling water of a beautiful ocean, and that was it. She seemed to lose control of her own self, and the words that escaped her mouth next were never supposed to be said.
"Because I like you too, Hayes," she whispered, as hot tears rolled down her cheeks. She sobbed, looking away from him, feeling everything crashing down. "I have liked you since the day I met you, you were the only one who made me feel like I was welcomed here," she explained, stopping to take a deep breath. "The cute little boy, with the dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair. Barely inches taller than I was. His warm smile lighting my world up, giving me hope that I was accepted into this new world of beasts," she smiled, remembering the moment. "I have liked you since then. From the time when I didn't even know that you could never be mine. When I didn't know what mates were, that we could never be with each other."
"Rose," Hayes smiled, a tear escaping his eye. He cupped her cheeks, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "You have no idea how happy you've made me with this confession. Thank you for being honest with me." He placed his forehead against hers, and closed his eyes when he felt they were starting to glow. Hayes felt euphoric. The only girl he had ever truly felt something for, felt the same for him. They remained in each other's embrace for a few seconds, before he began to sense her anxiety. And in a moment, she pulled away from him.
"Look, Hayes," she said softly. "We can't do this. I can't. I'm sorry. I can't be with you, and you know why. You deserved to know the truth, so there, I confessed it. But I don't want my feelings to escalate anymore, and that's why I can't continue to be around you all the time. Can you respect that?" She asked, placing her hands onto his shoulders.
"Rose, please," Hayes said softly.
"Please Hayes. I can't-"
Before she had the chance to finish her sentence, Hayes pressed his lips against hers. She froze for a second, before Hayes felt her wrap her arms around his neck, kissing him back. Hayes wrapped his around her waist, pulling her tightly to himself, as he deepened the kiss.
"You're so gorgeous," Hayes whispered, pulling away. Rose blushed, looking anywhere but into his eyes. "Look at me, Rose. Just keep looking into my eyes. All day, every-day. Every night."
"I wish I could," Rose replied, this time being the one to initiate the kiss. He could hear her heart beat pacing, and he knew she wanted him as much as he wanted her. It made him the most content he had ever been in his entire life.
"Rose," he whispered, pulling away again.
"Yeah?" She breathed out, smiling as she saw the way his eyes were gleaming. Like two stunning sapphires would glow in sunlight.
"Do you," he breathed, "do you wanna take this further?" He asked her for permission.
Rose thought for a second, before smiling at him.
"Might as well let Monica know that you're mine," she winked, and a wide smirk got plastered onto Hayes's face.
He picked her up into his arms, and rushed inside, his enhanced speed due to be being a werewolf proving as an advantage. He carried her into his room and put her down, before closing the door and locking it.
"Woah," Rose whispered, holding her head.
"Sorry," Hayes chuckled, before pinning her against the wall and pressing his lips against hers.
"You didn't sleep with her here, did you?" Rose asked, breaking away from the kiss.
"Of course not, Rose. You're the only girl I've ever brought into my bedroom," he replied, before once again pressing his lips against hers.
Rose wrapped her arms around his neck, while his hands travelled to her waist, tightly pulling her to himself. He picked her up with ease, and she wrapped her legs around his waist, while one of his hands rested under her hips, and the other cupped her cheek. They continued to kiss, until Rose pulled away and turned her face to the side, too out of breath.
"You smell so good," he whispered, breathing in her scent. Rose smiled, her fingers digging into his shoulders.
"You have no idea how long I've dreamt of you saying this to me," she whispered, still catching her breath.
"Oh yeah?" He asked, his tone teasing. "What else have you dreamt of?"
"I..." She trailed off, her breath hitching. "A lot of things."
"Well, let's make them all come true today," Hayes smiled, before carrying her to the bed, both their hearts beating in sync, their breaths heavy, and their scents mingling together.
