First step to revenge

840 Words
Josie's pov I had nothing to pack since Gabriel didn't even let me grab my things. *Breath "This is embarrassing!" My lips murmured alone. *Knock *Knock "Who?" "I am here with your things!" A maid answered from the other side of the door. "Uh…Come inside!" She gently opened the door and stepped into my room. "Are these for me?" My eyes broadened. Her hands were full of clothes, jewelry, and all the other primary things. "Master Elias asked me to help you with the packing." Words came out of her mouth. "I didn't expect him to be this generous!" "Why not?" Her brows creased. "He seems arrogant and creepy!" My heart didn't hide my sentiments. *Sigh "You can't expect anything from a man who was never loved." "Do you know about his family?" "Everyone knows!" *Deep breath "Last night he killed a man in that room upstairs." My mind was inquisitive. "We never question anything he does!" Her answer was precise. "What about his profession?" "Is he a gangster or something?" "Why didn't you ask him?" "I am scared of him!" *Chuckles "Master Elias runs a small textile business." She replied. "Really?" My heart wasn't fully convinced. "Well, that's what he tells everyone." It appeared she wasn't sure either. "You're now married to him, so he might slowly open up to you." Her words further added. "To be honest…" "Master Elias never brought a woman before, so we're just happy he found you." "Take care of him!" As if… Our marriage is just a fake show to overthrow everyone who wronged us. "Why don't you take some rest?" Her smooth tone insisted. "What about the packing?" "Let me do it." A friendly smile glinted on her lips. "Thank you!" *** Later in the evening… Our carriage arrived and we both bid farewell to his mansion. The whole ride was perilous and quiet, maybe he was still angry with me. "Elias!" My lips uttered his name. His cold stare shifted to my face and my soul shrunk with fear. *Gulp "I am sorry about last night." My courage muttered out the words. "As long as you realize it." His husky manner shut me off. What is his problem? Always rude, and always smug!!! . . . "Are you sure you can ruin them?" His sharp eyes doubted my worth. "Why are you asking?" "You're not like Ruby, she is strong and fierce…" "But you!" "What about me?" Unexpectedly, his face moved closer to mine. "You're soft and fragile, like a baby." *Sigh "I don't see that spark in you!" Rage ramped up inside my soul and my palm gripped his collar. "Who do you think you are?" "Mr. Rodriguez, stop judging me!" His eyes turned red and my soul came back to senses. "Uh…Sorry!" I instantly pulled out my grip from his collar and veered around my gaze to the window. Are you crazy, Josie? Why did you grab his collar? Damn!!! "You judge me, too!" His voice in my ear sent shivers down my spine. Even though there was no eye contact between us, my body could still feel his vengeful gaze. *** Three hours later… We finally arrived!!! Elias got out of the carriage first and waited for me to step down. *Deep breath I stepped down from the carriage and stood beside him. My heart became hefty and my soul started shivering. All the bad memories flashed before me, but it was now my turn to destroy each one of them. "Are you ready?" He mumbled. "Hmm!" His palm held mine and we led the way straight to the main entrance. For some reason his warm touch made me feel secure as if I was with my protector. . . . As soon as we stepped inside… "Master Elias!" A maid saw us and rushed back inside to call the others. One by one they all came out of their rooms… "Son?" Terra was shocked to see him back in the house. "How are you, Mother?" His polite tone greeted her. "What is she doing with you?" She shifted her gaze to my face. "Sister?" Ruby shouted from the stairs and Gabriel was right beside her. They came downstairs and slowly walked over to us with edgy expressions. "So you were the one who took her under your wing!" Gabriel twitched his brow. "Surprise!" Elias smirked. "What is going on?" "Why is she with you?" "Don't you know Gabriel broke his engagement with her!" "Mother, calm down!" His gentle tone mumbled. "Don't tell me you're doing social service or perhaps she is still not over me!" An evil smile flashed on his lips. "We're already married!" Ruby sensually clutched Gabriel's arm. "I won't take her back!" He slightly tilted his head to the left. "You got it all wrong, Brother!" Elias glanced straight into my eyes. "Wrong?" . . . "She is my wife!" His announcement terrified their soul. His stare shifted back to their pale faces. "We're married and will be staying here with my loving family."
